Arma 3 engine does not support windows xp

Recommended Posts

I guess this means that I can't play the dayZ standalone. They can't take away my xp from me only from my cold dead hands.

It's 2012, why are you not on windows 7, developers should not support 10+ year old operating systems.

Windows 7 is fine... it's a hell of a lot better than Vista was, and brings back alot of the functionality from Windows XP into the newer age OS...

Seriously though, XP is archaic and outdated... you can't even access DX11 features in games... it's not worth being stuck in the past.

Microsoft doesn't support any version of XP anymore...why on earth would anyone else?

there isn't a single reason why you should/would/need to use XP over windows 7. its old and outdated. and has no advantage what so ever...

I had an issue with another title and I upgraded, I was just fortunate I had a system which was compatible, If you can upgrade It is worthwhile.

For some the cost will be an issue, Pay for standalone and then OS. I'd buy Win 7 Now before standalone comes out.

But times change alas.

It won't be long before steam stops supporting XP as well. They've already phased out the first version of XP.

Time to get with the times! ;)

As has been said, even Microsoft don't support XP any more. Let's ignore the fact that Windows 7 performs better and is more secure, let's all be stubborn retards and expose our machines to well known vulnerabilities. Herpty derp durp.

It's 2013 soon. If there were any justice in the world all games would fully utilise 64-bit architecture and DirectX 11 as standard (barring OpenGL games, of course, since someone is bound to nitpick :P).

Win XP is a good operating system, it's stable, doesn't take much resources and is fast

however, i uderstand that people aren't programming new games for an old OS

I hope my PC can run it, though

Lol XP.

Why don't you just say that DayZ will be released on an 18th century wood engraving cut by black slaves.

I bet Windows 95 runs it!

Maybe not Win 95 couldn't run on electricity.

This must be so witty it went right over my head. Could you please elaborate?

Does this mean arma 3 wont support Windows 98 either?

Who cares about Windows 98?! DayZ's very success is contingent on whether or not it supports Windows ME! :(
