why arent servers upgrading to 95883?

Recommended Posts

I hadn't upgraded to the latest version because of suspected issues with BattlEye and that version of ARMA2 causing global bans (which were confirmed yesterday).

Now I'm not upgrading to the latest beta patch because I'm not upgrading to 1.7.2.5 until the artifacts have been fixed (the ones it was supposed to fix, but supposedly made things worse). Technically it fixed what it was supposed to, but broke other things.

Me the crew and my server updated to 1.7.2.5 and 99883 seems fine to me as we are all playing fine.

Because:

1. Some hosting providers didn't updated their servers for their customers (admins).

2. Ppl are afraid of new bugs (ie missing vehicles, tents and stuff).

Anyway I'm going to upgrade mine @ 8pm, we shall see :)

why arent servers upgrading to 95883?

Simply put, because we haven't told them to. ;-)

Strictly speaking, the team is not enforcing one particular beta, but we have been sending out advisories that told hosters to upgrade at irregular intervals when this was necessary. The latest officially sanctioned beta, that is, the latest beta suggested for deployment by the DayZ team, has been 95417. There were a few improvements in the recent betas but also quite a few problems, especially with regard to stability. 95883 looks fairly good, though, so there may be an advisory telling people to update sooner or later.

Not upgrading because we are getting less logs rather than more! What kind of nonsense is that given the rampant cheating...

I have been running the betas on my test server. So far its been pretty stable. The battleye globally banning people has been fixed. I just saw and update in my chat about it. Here at HFB we threw a disclaimer on the updates stating that its not proven to work dayz and support with it will be limited.

Yup 95883 had been very stable the last few havnt been. The DayZ staff send us an email when we need to update. Other operators like myself like to update to the newest if it causes crashed we let BIS know so it can get fixed.

95883 not working on my server. It's simply getting stuck at 'Creating'.

Probably because people don't want to spawn on the coast everytime they log off the game.
