Global Bans for legit players?

Recommended Posts

Probably my last update here (for the night) think I've been pretty open minded, I've played DayZ with the latest patch on both servers that are latest and servers that are not, I've now had the opportunity to interact with various items in the game, moved a fair distance, visited stary, and a few other places on the way, I've used the CPU count parameter, basically tried most of the things that people are saying they might have been banned for due to an error with BE and the update etc.

The only two things I haven't done are server hop (which I am not keen on doing as it's just a bad look :) ) - and I haven't had any interactions with hackers on the servers I've played on.

Other than that .. ..

I have to say that I do believe that this has caught a shitload of hackers and they are very very butthurt, I'll concede there is a chance that this is not true, but I have to say at this point it doesn't look good for them.

Other people I know who play have not been banned, a lot of people on this forum have not been banned, the statement I saw on the BI forums did have the term "IF", when mentioning the possibility of error.

Appropriate action will be taken if a false-positive scenario is found.

On another note, it is not possible for a hacker to get an innocent player globally banned. I have read this many times now, but I want everyone to know that this is not possible. The BE global ban system is protected against that.

I know it's easy to say "what if you were in our shoes" and things like that, but I'm not, a lot of people are not, and only you yourself can ever truly know if you hacked or not, I know I haven't / never will, I don't expect you believe me, and I think now you could see how others are having trouble believing the posts that say they are innocent.

I know I haven't used a hack, I know I haven't been banned. That alone is about half or more of me believing that your all just upset you got busted doing something you had been sure you would not.

Spawned with my clan near our camp, drove across to the island where you get the heli, got killed, re-spawned, logged out/exited while I waited for my mates to come pick me up from Kamenka, rejoined and got banned for #c5b6.

So we got an EA security specialist here, and he PROOVED that he told us the truht.

So stfu with your "you all are ulgy cheaters" whines. There are BIG problems with BE, not all players are having the problems, but WE HAVE THEM.

We want a god damn statement from BE but they dont say a word.

@dmex:

i would suggest after the gamescom, the EA Truck with alle the audio equipemnt drives to the BE Company (about 2 hours from cologne), and use the whole equipment in front of them and ask them for a f***ing statement, may their here that.

the problem with this is you did not try to re create there scenario. Im sure you went into a server nervous as hell attempting to avoid possibly being banned.

I find it extremely hard to believe that BE would not take it upon them selves to announce a successful mass ban on thousands of players in a day. Clearly there was a mistake made, this problem effects everyone including you and me.

1 Effects BIS and there projected income

2. effects dayz progression towards standalone

3. effects me now because there are less people to commit my banditry with =/

also... has anyone even THOUGHT to open up the change log?...

obviously. it was fucking obvious, i knew that already but the buttlicking proletariat dont know when to listen

BTW origin wannabe/real thing - i goolged amra guid spoofer and found programs that change stolen CD keys i take it thats what you mean? that shit which helps to play warez versions of arma on unofficial servers? on the other hand i googled bf3 hacks and came up with page after page of mainstream hack sites. i will just click the first one now, oh shit theres hundreds of people in that forum what do you know

1) origin is a waste and a bain

2) they seem to employ people with poor understanding of the word acquisition

A lot? How many here in this thread? 15? 20? It's basically the same banned guys who keeps posting over and over and doing their facebook updates here while chatting like it's an IRC channel. There's noone on the BIS forum apart from the odd dayz-player who registered there. Those who are banned wants to portray this as there are "thousands" of innocents banned and "9000 threads" about it. It isn't.

So we got an EA security specialist here, and he PROOVED that he told us the truht.

wat? How has he prooved anything?

There's no way the betas are causing this. The only reason I can think of IF anyone innocent has been banned is due to GUID spoofing, which basically means you share your character with another player (if they're connected to the HIVE). There are no false postivies (two players on one character isn't a false positive but a security hole), BE checks for illegal commands sent to the server which a normal client would nor could ever do.

I can't say it didn't cross my mind that I "might" be banned, but I have a firm belief that IF this is truly an error then of course it will be fixed, it might take a little while but there is no way this would occur and they just leave it.

So with that in mind, I played as I play normally, I didn't do anything "special" or different, apart from the editing of the startup parameters to include the CPU count, the testing of what happens when you meet up with a hacker I simply cannot reproduce, and the server hopping, I highly doubt that would cause it, I did have suspicion about a script that may be run by the DayZ mod that checks if a player is under fine as they log out or if they are injured or something, and that could be a possibility.

I think I've gone more out of my way than most randoms on the internet would to see if this is true.

Just saying what it looks like from the "not banned" side of the fence.

No doubt if I do get banned I will join my forum rage with your own, but until then I have to say, it's very suspicious and I do have a little lump of joy thinking that this nailed a bunch of cheats.

Just as an aside, the Battleye message that was pumping out to the servers about 11,000 cheaters banned since June 15 etc, now has been changed to this;

Hopefully it means progress for you guys.

I haven't posted my unfortunate global ban yesterday as i feel theres no point on these forums. I have submitted an email to BE etc etc.

I just wanted to point out to a few small minded people that think programs once built are solid, never buggy and always right to take a look at the following thread

http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?138509-ARMA-2-OA-beta-build-95819-%281-62-MP-build%29/page2

Now you guys know who you are and i pity you. Its obvious that there is an issue, have you not been following this thread?

The post was created yesterday at 3:50am

Its now 12:39pm the next day and since then there have been 858 replies and 26,944 views

"ALARM BELLS START RINGING"

If you haven't been globally banned and just feel like trolling please go back to your obviously lonely single life where the only ray of light from your impending doom is to try and drag people down with you.

Now we have an admission something isnt right maybe the thread will become more informative than it is at the moment.

If you dont know what your saying / it doesn't concern you, heres a thought dont stick your nose in

To all those in the same boat patience is a virtue and BE will sort this out eventually.

here is how i see this working out for the legit players. It will take just short of a god awful long time to get you all unbanned BUT this means hackers trying to jump into this mess will remained banned. Due to the amount of people this is happening to, they will need to investigate each individual making an unban request. So as the other dude said, patience is a virtue.

I dont read any admission of guilt in that statement. They said IF. And they are talking about false positives. None of this shit about getting CD key banned with another player playing under yours, thats for sure. there's been a direct rebuttal of that suggestion in fact

like just mentioned before, if you count up the people complaining its not many considering a) how many use this forum B) how many play dayz and even c) how many it appears were hacking (remember last weeks 200k guess?)

i would suggest the thread received attention because of hackers reading it and non hackers loling hard at it

Was playing all day yesterday with 95819 with my friend who also updated, none of us got banned.

I have done a couple tweaks (fov, some setting from 30000 to 10000, general graphic settings)

If you're all legit, i suggest you try to remember everything you've changed that can affect the game.

The game is totally open source, it means hackers are free to do anything on the game. It wouldn't surprise me if what $able said was false .. I hope he's right :l

Clatterbridge,

perfect example of narrow-mindedness and someone sticking there nose in

If you bother looking at every other "Im globally banned" thread they stop at around 4 posts. Why o why would since yesterday suddenly everyone think "im gonna try to get unbanned now"

you make me smile

guys, getting global banned for a353 or c565 or any other unreadable code seems to be a bug, just wait for BE to solve it, theres not much else you people can do, spamming the forum doesnt force BE to anything, they get paid anyway

From the BI Forum:

Hey everyone, we're aware of the global banning issue and are investigating since yesterday. Appropriate action will be taken if a false-positive scenario is found. If that is indeed the case I'm terribly sorry for it and will take measures to prevent this from happening in the future. I will write again once more is known.

On another note, it is not possible for a hacker to get an innocent player globally banned. I have read this many times now, but I want everyone to know that this is not possible. The BE global ban system is protected against that.

strange that you call participating sticking my nose in. i mean i already beat BE to the punch on this forum ruling out hackers playing with your CD key right. You dont own the thread or the right the particpate in it anymore than i do bro. im certainly not going to stand idly by whilst some nobjockey talks up origin

btw was that a comeback?

everyone will write in five minutes "but what if they dont find anything/let it fall under the carpet"

they all seem to be of the opinion that the BE team is evil, and theres no WAY someone hacked, yet a few days ago, they all cried for BE to adapt to the situation... and fixing something is always combined with developing, and developing is always combined with bugs

if you guys dont trust BE anymore because of that, and you really didnt cheat, just dont play dayZ mod anymore

Exactly, notice the IF, you seem to expect everyone to believe you and the others, you want us to "see things from your side of the fence", but it seems you are unwilling to do the same.

It's not "narrow-minded" at all to think all these people are cheats who have been caught, I cannot say I've seen 11000 + posts about it, which is the number that BE advertised it had banned. I don't know if that was all a result of this last day, or if there are significant numbers back to june 5.

It is entirely believable that a large force of people who did not expect to get banned for using "safe" "[uNDETECTED]" cheats would come to the forums en masse and attempt to get out of it, figuring that the more that do it the higher the chance they will get unbanned.

There are those on both sides who want to just hurl abuse, but identifying yourself as one of them does not help your cause, it just makes it look more likely that the ban is legit.

No not really, your diverting from the subject, Origin? what? HijackThreadPls

If you want to talk about some random unrelated Origin thing (that has already hijacked this thread enough), go make your own thread.

If you haven't been banned, dont belong to Dayz staff, BI or BE then yes you may participate but I would definatley call it sticking your nose in to something you have no knowledge / care over.

Its like me seeing a parking ticket guy and the person who he is giving the ticket to, going over there and saying "Ive had a ticket before so blah blah blah i know what im talking about blah blah blah". Of course you may join in the conversation (human rights, freedom of speech and all that), still sticking your nose in to something that really doesn't concern you at all though.

Now we have an admission something isnt right [...]

Nope

The game is totally open source [...]

Nope.

And Bohemia expects me to buy the standalone DayZ game after all this?

Nope, your call.

guys, getting global banned for a353 or c565 or any other unreadable code seems to be a bug[...]

Nope.

All BE is saying is that they're looking into it. Pretty much like they say on their website...
