Global Bans for legit players?

Actually, Rocket said the opposite. That only spawning illegitimate weapons would get you banned, and that using them was fair game (probably because eventually people will die and lose them anyway).

You seem to be very defensive about using hacked weapons and altering config. files.... ;) wonder why :)

battleeye is pissed that ppl r buying arma 2 just for day z. So there banning ppl cuz they just heard that day z is going stand alone and ppl wont be buying arma 2 any more so less profit for them thus banning ppl so they r forced to buy annother copy to give them profit....my 2 cents

Only altering config files, I'll admit to being defensive about that because I like having the option to fix developer mistakes. ;) If I wanted to play half-arsed games with no way to fix them I'd blow the dust off my Xbox 360, until then I will fix half-arsed PC games. :D

There isnt much sympathy here. If people are getting banned for no reason then there is a serious problem.

A lot of people are giving the oh so cliche "It didnt happen to me so i dont care" response, but you would be the first to go crying to your Mummy if it happened to you.

If people are getting banned for supposedly hacking then i think Battleye should have to tell you what they think you did and when. How on earth can you be judged guilty when you havent even beed told what you are guilty of. This is Stalinist Russia...or is it?

That's where your right, if it happened to me i for 1 would start bitching about it because i was wrongly banned, it hasn't happened to me though as of yet, (fingers crossed) and i hope it doesn't happen at all, to the people who have been wrongly banned i hope battleye fixes there shit and unbans you.

Face it, you got banned for a reason, Battleye must have just did a ban sweep around the new patch 95777. If it was a bad patch that is causing the ban, everyone, or at least a lot more players would be complaining about being banned.

Go hack another game noobs, instead of crying on the forums here.

with the way this game is being run right now, it wouldnt surprise me in the least. and to the dev that tried to make a joke... i dont see where any of this is funny. if cheaters are being banned, then great. but if even 1 case of this is true, you guys have a problem.

i agree....with all the hacking been happenign l8tly im not surprised if they did a sweep....i havent logged on for almost a week and dont plann on it for a while....hopefully we will see hacking going down now....ill keep reading the forums.

If I'm not mistaken, Bohemia Interactive is behind the new Dayz standalone as well, so money goes back to the same company as Arma 2.

As i understand it amongst games...

You are generally allowed to edit files that affect your game and your game alone (barring exceptions) FoV and certain textures apply.

Where the line is drawn is when making OTHER players become affected. Replacing building textures with glas sor putting everyone in bright pink uniforms fall under here.

That is as I understand it, so I don't think its the edited profile data that's causing this.

I have also received a Global ban about 10 mins ago. I have only had the game for 3 days and i have never used any hacks or scripts all i was doing is running up to the north east airfield.
