horrgakx 11 Posted August 8, 2012 I was coming into the south west side of Berezino under bright moonlight just looking for loot and staying out of sight. I spotted there were zombies around a cattle shed too far away for me to have spawned them so I approached cautiously. I have 4 clips for my M4A1 CCO so it was loaded and ready to go. I saw two ghillie-suited guys walking out of the shed and across the road in the direction towards Berezino hospital so I dropped in behind them. They were crouched and going slow, I could afford to run while crouched so I closed the gap quickly. I suddenly became aware that my heart was JUMPING out of my chest and I lined up the shot and fired about 4 shots for each of them. I hit one nicely but probably wounded the other, I heard cries of pain. I turned and ran like the big chicken I am :)A few seconds later I got a message that someone had died so I don't know if it was me who killed him or just someone else on the map. But that was my most intense moment yet!!
DrunkPunk 159 Posted August 8, 2012 hahaha i certainly appreciate your honesty! i felt about hte same way the first time I took shots at a player. certainly is thrilling, isn't it?
horrgakx 11 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) Thanks for the comments.See normally I would have just given them a wide berth and continued on my way or offered to help. But I've been shot too many times in the back when I didn't even pose a threat ... so I just thought "f'k it".The game has turned me evil :bandit: Edited August 8, 2012 by Horrgakx
☣BioHaze☣ 7337 Posted August 8, 2012 All of the times I was shot while saying "friendly" were worth the first friendly encounter I had.
Lonrem 62 Posted August 8, 2012 All of the times I was shot while saying "friendly" were worth the first friendly encounter I had.I used to be like that... Now I only announce my presence if I've got cover and my rifle pointed at their head. If they move to look for me or don't respond, I fire. Tired of getting shot while yelling out 'friendly' and losing decent gear.
FUBBMisery 3 Posted August 8, 2012 Nice it's pretty fun killing players. You should of stayed hidden and watch the other guy but I know how intense it is.

horrgakx 11 Posted August 9, 2012 (edited) I should also have said in my original post that early on in my looting I found a Mountain Dew. My heart sank as I had learned of the curse. BUT I defied it, picked it up and drank the contents. After that I had a surprisingly good night on DayZ finding some untouched loot locations and it ended in firing at the two guys I drivelled about in my original post. denkart 198 Posted August 9, 2012 Nice man. For future reference, if you want to confirm your kill, check the debug window. If you killed a player, a number higher than zero will be next to the "Murders" or "Bandits killed"
horrgakx 11 Posted August 13, 2012 Just for reference, I noticed that I have a Murder tally of 1.I'm off to read up on what the Humanity figure is and how it affects me...
Doctor_sloth 119 Posted August 13, 2012 Sounds like what happens when I take a potshot at a player.*MACHINE GUN FIRE*"Shit, did he just get behind cover?"-Waits a few seconds-"No death message? Fuck this I'm out"-Proceed to run away like a pansy, zig zagging and sprinting-
