Orlok, I thought the original thread was in the Survivor forum and I posted another in the New Play Discussion forum, as all levels of skill are welcome. However, I was wrong, the original thread was in New Player Discussion. I did post asking if a mod could move one of the threads to the Survivor forum.

Apparently my Message box is full! Gawd, I better sort that out asap! Sorry to anyone trying to message me.

Just to confirm, yes my in box is full and I will sort that out by tomorrow, thanks.

Also, I want to clarify - I'm not looking to create a clan or wear a tag that tells people I am not a killer, such as the "fogey" one might. Neither am I a fogey. Of course, you are free to do what ever you like - because it's not a clan or group. It's just a list of people who are over 30. So you could even set up your own clan/s.

I've already had a few people telling me they're keen to get into some PvP action - which is a surprise considering that is exactly what this is NOT about!

To clarify, it's entirely up to you how you play, what approach you take, PvP, or survivor who wants to experience setting up camps, travelling, exploring and so on. But you should make it clear when you contact anyone on the list, so they know.

As many of you will know, I don't kill players, full stop. I don't even point a gun at them. However, if someone shot at me, I'd do my best to kill them first. I travel a lot across the map, and I'd be happy to lead teams up to the north, for those who want to see it and the airfields. What I personally cannot do is defend you on my own. So I'd need a few good shooters too. Just in case we had to cope with a zombie hord!

Sorry there are 2 threads of this kind in this forum - I did ask if a moderator could move one to Survivors forum but I don't think any of them has spotted it yet.

Im also happy to team up and take people up north and do runs to the airfield and generally help out or just have some fun. We could also start up a bartering system where if you need ammo and another fogey has some we coul trade or help out. Maybe have some fogey tents and tell others the location of one inc server so we can add stuff to it or help ourselves... Im currently throwing alot into a strangers tent but I borrowed a gun from them. Sure they wont mind the silenced rounds i left for them.

Fogeys of the world.... Lets get ready to Grumble!

I just paid my first visit to the bandit forum and very nice it was too. Had a quick read and saw a thread asking for players from the England, Scotland and EU to get together but sadly, though very charming they were bandits.

So I wondered if there were players of the same sort of age who don't mind shooting bandits, and zombies but don't really want to just go rob people, kill noobs and start wars. Or am I dreaming?

Message me.

Have a look at our community :- http://www.bsbnetwork.com

Mostly adults over 30 (well over in some cases!) with over 200 Day Z. We have a few fire teams set up with bases and camps, vehicles and what not set up accross several servers. Too much to put here!

D3nty and others in their twenties who want to play a broader and more mature game, not just shoot whatever moves - doesn't matter if you're a few years out. If you want on the list you're on the list.

Update - the list is going slowly. So far few people have said, I use x, y and z to communicate. My username is blahblah on teamspeak/skype/steam etc... and I'm based in the US/UK/Germany..... I'm in my 50s/20s/40s ...etc

So it's taking some time to put together a meaningful list. If you've expressed interest in being on the list I will send you a copy when the first draft is ready.

My inbox is now able to receive messages again. Thanks!

Boneboys, how can you be too old? Impossible!

And here comes Box with his advert for his clan. You sound like Jehovah Witness, man!

Im 40 something and been sporting the hero skin since it came out. Bandit hunter since I started playing in mid May. I dont shoot on sight (and sometimes die because of it). I help new players and fresh spawns (and sometimes die because of that...). I have, however met quite a number of really cool people (because of that). Hope to see you on the coast!

BelMarduk, does that mean you want to be added to the list? I need a skype/teamspeak or other username so people on the list can contact each other and arrange to meet up for a dayz session.

Sula ( and all others ) how about setting up a separate website/forum for anyone interested in grouping or meeting up in game. ( I'm happy to setup domain, software etc ) It would allow us to have post messages on what server they will be on etc and also people could then post or update there own profile information saving you retyping etc...

So for instance someone could post a message saying 8pm GMT, UK202 server cherno.... and a few fogeys could all meet up.... or how about a teamspeak channel so its easier in game to talk and find other fogeys , could be broken down into UK, USA etc and maybe even find a few servers we think are ideal and they could become a default game server to meet up on ( that's the one thing I miss about this game, the ability to easily team up with people unless its a clan

I could just see a car full of fogeys coming over a hill to the rescue of a downed old fart :) ( we could all sing "WHATS THAT COMING OVER THE HILL, IS IT A FOGEY")

And as Sula said... not to make it a clan or anything strict, just a way to all meet up, pass on tips or train new old fogeys into the ways of Dayz

Thoughts?

I'm 31 from Brighton England, my game style is semi bandit meaning if i don't have much gear i will be more friendly and willing to take a chance when somebody calls friendly, but if i'm geared up to the max i will try to avoid a player but always try to kill a player if i get the chance, unless the player has no gun.

I have to ask, do you play on UK 306 a lot? (Might just be your namesake)

Anyways, I don't normally post to find groups since I have a very adult sense of humour (sorry, I love porn links) and can go ultra serious if my groups under fire so I'm not everyones cup of tea when it comes to more casual gamers. But since I've given quite a few beans to Sula already and love his opinions I'll throw my details in.

I don't do Skype unfortunatly, I've found the speech delay too much for most games I've played.

AnnieGYG (UK) on Steam, or hit me up on these forums, I do Teamspeak and Mumble again under AnnieGYG (UK). 37, ex soldier, I just retired after 20 years, from Wiltshire, UK.

I don't kill anymore, I've killed a total of 3 people in my entire DayZ career since the 3rd of June, but none since mid June. I prefer using skill to get myself out of a situation, not firepower, and yes, I do die a lot because of this but I've been playing long enough for it to not bother me anymore.

I currently play with a small team and we do get attacked at our base regularly so although I am stricly agasint KoS and I don't kill myself, it doesn't mean I can't spot or dive in with medic support, and I will fire for the legs to defend my team. I do really enjoy the PvP element when we go and raid camps with hacked weapons in and destory them all. Unfortunatly since most of my team is older they are all out at work now.

Currently running at about +43,000 humanity, and I'm happy to run between private hive or real hive servers. Rinauns private hive is a pretty good place to hang out so thats where I've been recently, you just need to register on their forums to get access to the password.

I'm 31. Glad to see other old heads enjoying DayZ.

In all honesty, I always felt like DayZ was a very mature and challenging game compared to arcade style shooters out there like COD, and figured it would mostly appeal to the more seasoned gamer and crowd. I am pretty surprised at the apparent growing audience of young folk playing DayZ, and impressed that they are able to get into a game with such a steep learning curve and serious tone. There is hope for our future after all!

OK, please guys this is getting incredibly messy because I'm not getting the right information from you.

To clarify I am putting together a list of people over 30 years old (or so) who want to play dayz. I am NOT setting up communication systems, servers, or clans.

IF YOU WANT TO BE ON THE LIST you need to TELL ME PLEASE what software you use to speak in dayz AND/OR outside of dayz so you will be able to contact people on the list and arrange a game. For example, I use skype, I contact someone and we then go into a server together.

If you don't tell me what what software you use and the username you use on it - I have nothing to add to the list!

So my entry will say: Sulalee, skype username is Sulalee01, UK based.

That's all I need from you - unless you have more than one communication software package you use, such as mummble, ventrino, teamspeak etc. I will need your usernames for each, so people can find you!

Thanks!

Hunterkilla, once you start to speak to people on the list you can see what they're interested in whether or not they'd like a site. I'm just sorting out the list.

Same here, quite surprised in a good way for sure :)

Anyways I'm playing as lone survivor just doing my stuff and teasing zombies so I long ago thought about joining up a session with other mature folks (hopefully that will guarantee no back stubbs hahah).

Though I'm in the process of moving property and stuff but once that's done you'll get in touch folks ;)

I'm Defo up for this, will pm you my details later for the list. Have stopped playing due to getting a little bored on my own tbh. I'm 44 and play games most evenings and live in the UK.

Steam : daztroyer1

Skype : dazway1

TS3 : DazTroyer

One thing worth saying, I've added a few to my Steam account already but haven't got my head around contacting them via Skype. I chat to mates on xbox live or strangers in Dayz but phoning someone to see if they will play DayZ just seems odd, lol. Maybe it's just me?

Anyway pm me if you want. :)

Hey Sula

Tried to pm you but my phone giving me a hard time, ended up spending two.

Sorry.

I mentioned it to Sula, about folks getting Touch or Whatsapp etc to arrange games. We could have our own group going? I use Touch and it works on ios and android. Anyway it's only an idea. :)

Hey guys i'm 33 just bought a laptop to play this game and love it been praying for a game like this for as long as i can remember (always played consol games except for close combat: a Bridge too Far).

There are a few of us that have come from Battfield to play this and would like to build our numbers if any aussies or kiwis are interested. A couple of the guys use skype but we generally talk over xbox live chat. send me a message to dmc14 on the xbox or friend request but let me know what its about.

We arent bandits and we can make freinds out in the wildernes but we dont trust and its a slow meeting at fist usually i will be the advance party that comes out of bushes and sez "friendly but take it easy i'm not alone and your being watched" while my mates watch through scopes or iron sights and we see what that person does or we will watch them for a bit and try communicating with them through side chat and try figure out if there baddy or freindly. So we arent afraid to kill but we would rather make freinds and become stronger as a team.

e.g. last night my mate went forward and had grenades thrown at him from the prison in the north of Lingore island so over side chat i type "why did you shoot and throw grenades at my mate?" he sez he didn't, we didn't even realize anyone was there till after he shot. i think that shows he's intent to kill us or at least the one he saw and there were three of us waiting fo him to run out the only exit and messaging back and forward went on. we said we would let him leave if he dropped he's guns (we didn't need them but we didnt trust him to not shoot at us again). he quit the game the pussie. Now some people watching the chat fought we were being slack and should let him go but he shot at us first and threw grenades he wasn't mucking about. I figure that is a fair kill but we didnt in the end anyway we just caused him some grief.

Like i said we will kill u if we feel u cant be trusted but we will give u a chance.

Man sounds cool. But unfortunately there is not enough bandits to go around. Which makes me think we would be shooting A lot of zombies and zombies are slow and easily.
