All this thread was about, is the fact that I have been playing the game wrong.

I was under the impression it was a zombie survival game, but clearly it's a deathmatch game with some annoying zombies here and there. I'm just playing the game how it's been designed to play from now on, that's all.

I can't agree more with the OP. I know that feel. I think.

Why should I act all kind and friendly like I would in real life? Having a fun, friendly experience in this game requires mega meta-gaming. MMG if you will.

No mate, you're the one with the fantasy. There is no 'way' to play this game, its all based on judgments calls and your emotion at the time. Go ahead and throw your little hissy fit but if you had really reached an epiphany about how you play, you would have shut the fuck up and just got on with it. What you did instead was start a troll thread to show everyone how much a rebel you've become and trying to antagonise the community a little more. For those of us that haven't just started playing, we couldn't really give a fuck. These threads come along about once a day and never really hinder our gaming experience. You play however you want but don't come throwing a pussy whine to show how much of an elitist fallen-angel you are. We'll still end up killing you no matter how you choose to play.

Don't give this guy shit for starting a thread about him changing his play style. It is relevant. There is literally no reason for anyone to help anyone else in this game unless you are friends out of game. The most rewarding experience in this game comes from shooting everyone you don't know.

In my entire DayZ days, I have only stepped foot in Cherno once, and that was on a suicide run with 4 friends and SAW's.If I'd be interested in killing some sniper camping in the forest, I'd come from the North and spot you with the L85 long before you even see me. I have NVG's aswell.

I use an L85 to spot peeps.... then change to DMR to actually shoot them... I find the DMR a much nicer gun to work with.

Just FYI, I'm 33 and a bored but successful (enough to waste my time here, anyway) business man... I'm also a gave developer and using DayZ as a field experiment.

I've been an indie dev for about 20 years and have been working on a project for about 7-8 months now with two other guys. We will hopefully have a beta out by December. It involves zombies. It's not a game you have heard of yet, but hopefully will have in about 2 months when we officially announce it. I am the project director and lead artist. I can't code to save my life, but I understand code logic, and game logic.

I don't have to prove anything to you, but maybe you won't think I'm full of shit now.

I did bump into two guys today in the woods on the side of the road, travelling opposite me. I hid behind a tree and we managed to agree to not have a shoot out in direct coms and we all went on our merry way. This, to me, is more "edge of the seat" than just firing willy nilly. Ah well.
