Flenniken 1 Posted August 2, 2012 That is the best way to develop something that you created from scratch :D. If ya don't like it, TOO BAD! rocket didn't create arma 2....your point is invalid
tsmhicks 52 Posted August 2, 2012 (edited) rocket didn't create arma 2....your point is invalidI didnt say he made arma 2 -.-, but DayZ was HIS mod that HE created from scratch using ARMA2 engine. Regardless if his mod runs on the arma 2 engine, it isnt his responsibility to update battle eye nor even think of how to take care of hackers yet because ALPHA is about getting data to get development ready for BETA. ALSO ARMA2 is a STRICK REALISTIC MILITARY SIMULATOR so hacking was something that honestly wasnt even on the minds of Bohemia Interactive because its purpose was to only simulate combat scenarios which is why BattleEye Anti Cheat was used (not the best in the world). But now that Arma 2 / Dayz is so popular they are updating the Arma 2 game with Patches weekly and its BATTLEYE's job to update their anti-cheat NOT ROCKET NOT Bohemia. nuclear (DayZ) 7 Posted August 2, 2012 Alpha my ass- you can call it what you want but when you have to buy a released game to play it- its released.
AllDayZSimon 75 Posted August 2, 2012 Alpha my ass- you can call it what you want but when you have to buy a released game to play it- its released.Again, "IT's Alpha!" is a dumb excuse. Even games that were released last year STILL recieve updates.Nuclear has a point though - If "It's just alpha!" is an excuse, why do you need to buy a $30 game to play it? tsmhicks 52 Posted August 2, 2012 Alpha my ass- you can call it what you want but when you have to buy a released game to play it- its released. When you learn the difference between a Game and a mod all your arguments will be valid. Prime example here for ya: Counter Strike was a mod for half life that was in Alpha for almost 2 years before it became a stand alone CS1.6, but you had to by Half Life 1 to play the Mod. So yea, learn the difference between the 2 before you try and argue
DarkRaven123 602 Posted August 2, 2012 I lol'd so hard at the ignorance in this thread.Arma 2 is clearly released. Its a fantastic modding platform.DayZ, the mod itself also goes through development cycles, and is still in Alpha, the testing stage. You didn't "have to" spend $30. No one forced you to do it.You should have known what you were getting into before you just dropped 30 for a mod in alpha. You should try Arma 2, it's a very good game.
Vangelics 10 Posted August 2, 2012 (edited) Alpha my ass- you can call it what you want but when you have to buy a released game to play it- its released.oh my god, get with it dumbarse.how bout u buy arma 2 and just play that. You were not forced to download a MOD for it.sorry DarkRaven, didnt see your last post :P Edited August 2, 2012 by Vangelics
sudZ! 115 Posted August 2, 2012 Besides... if you got even 10 hours of entertainment out of Arma II/Dayz, then you paid exactly $3/hr to be entertained. What else would you have spent that $3 on that would have been a better investment? Pizza? Some beer? A shitty movie and overpriced popcorn?
[Gen]Adzic 241 Posted August 2, 2012 Wait a minute.. I have played the role of survivor for ages, I am currently only scavenging food and water, I have a DMR and ammo to last for days.. I am lost what to do now other than kill people for kicks. Is it wrong to actually want to go to this Thunderdome? It looks exciting! I wonder what happens to you if you are the winner, the last man standing?

SSrT Nick 6 Posted August 2, 2012 The problem is BattlEye. The hackers won't be stopped. If 3/4 of the community had played ArmA 2 they would know that a fully established game out for years will still get hacked... So you're all losing saying it will be fixed when the game is released at its best. Unless Bohemia obtains something other than BattlEye the game is doomed. tsmhicks 52 Posted August 3, 2012 How is DayZ doomed when it is going to be its seperate game in the next few months, which means a possible different anti-cheat?
