    Excited for The Standalone

I can't say I am really excited for the SA. It is taking forever and I only pop by once in a while to find nothing in terms of a release. To say the least, the dev's were really off on their release estimate.
  2. From what I read on the updates, the game is going to be much more than loot and shoot. Even laying the groundwork for that takes time. The dev's need to take their time now because every decision they make now will impact the viabiltity of the game for a long time. The game needs more phases than simply survival and pvp. It needs crafting, base building and maybe someway to 'rebuild' the world after the ZA. I am definitely fine with wating as long as it means a more interesting game.

    Memory hacking in Standalone

http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/118329-hacking-and-stopping-it/#entry1123409 I believe one of the ways to help slow down hacking is to make these actions have more lasting consequences. Hackers should know that they risk being permanently blacklisted from playing via their payment method. While there are ways around this, the more times you are caught the harder it will be to get another copy of the game. How many cards, accounts etc. can one person get? Advertising this feature would also limit other people buying copies for the hacker on their accounts. Its not perfect but every obstacle that can be placed in the cheater's path can only help.

    Memory hacking in Standalone

One non-programming way to help limit hackers is to ban their method of payment. This won't stop it entirely but it might give alot of these script kiddies pause when they realize that it will be more difficult to buy another copy of the game. If you get caught hacking, the account you used to buy the game gets blacklisted. Eventually, these idiots will either learn their lesson or stop because they will run out of cards/accounts to pay with. This would also let the community know that the developers are serious about combatting hackers and not just milking them for the multiple accounts that they purchase.

    DayZ Standalone Closed Testing?

Personally, I don't care who gets in as long as they actually take it serioulsy and help the developers make a great game. The upside is that the release can't be that far off if they are letting youtubers do the testing and they are recording. The team must be fairly confident that there are no huge game breaking bugs at this point that would send them back to the drawing board.

    DayZ Standalone Discussion

I can't agree more. I bought the game (on my CC) because I has some suspicions about the whole thing. I just got my refund last week. That guy Titov is without a doubt the most shameless scam artist that I have ever encountered. When he started calling War Z's release foundation, I thought- where did he come up with that? It didn't take me long to find out. I am not bothered by developers using some ideas from other games and improving them and then adding their own flair. However, the DayZ mod is much better than WarZ. WarZ broke every aspect of DayZ that they copied. Everything about War Z is a cash grab plain and simple. When the standalone comes out, that game dies. A Metacritic score of 1.2?? lol- and WarZ deserves it in every respect. If I were Hall, I wouldn't say anything until launch. Hammerpoint is shameless and a bunch of crooks.

    Zombie respawn time too fast

I think the issue with the spawns is not just the speed of the spawns but the mechanic as well. Zombies only spawn when a player approaches an area that potentially has loot or at least that is the way it looks to me. I think that there should be a zombie spawn one, two or three times a day. There should be more of them on the map and they should wander all over the map not just in the towns or near loot spots. Right, now there are no zombies in the woods at all.

    population on the decline?

I think everyone here has hit on many of the reasons why the pop. is in decline. I have steered two friends away from the game because of the hacking. The graphical issues around the military areas doesn't help either. Also Noogsta is absolutely correct, there is not much to do after a while. The game needs base construction or something else to strive for. There is not alot to keep people playing long term. I am waiting on WarZ and hoping it lives up to the promises.

Welcome to the Biggest hacked game/mod out there

Alpha my ass- you can call it what you want but when you have to buy a released game to play it- its released.

    HACKERS ARE OUT OF CONTROL

Agree with Kabs. The funny thing is that DayZ has been out for a whlle now (not sure how long). You have to buy a retail game to play it and people are still throwing around that its alpha or beta. The first priority of any game system needs to be to ensure its integrity. DayZ and ARMA II have no integrity. If you can't trust the game system to prevent large scale and obvious hacks, there is literally no use in playing.

    EVERYBODY HACKING, ON EVERY SERVER!

Anyone who thinks there is not a huge hacking problem in DayZ is either a script kiddie in disguise or is in serious denial. I won't be playing unless this problem is fixed. It was fun though while it lasted. I guess I will just have to wait for WarZ.

    HACKERS ARE OUT OF CONTROL

Well, My friends and I that play this game have stopped due to the hacking. Its a shame because it is a great idea. I am sure we are not the only ones. At this rate, the only legacy of Dayz maybe that it spawns multiple other titles that copy its features. The word is already getting around. I was trying to get a few more guys to play with us last week and they said they wanted to play but would not because of the hacking issues. I cannot blame them at this point.
  13. I agree with Kex. I played for two weeks and just got my first taste of hackers. The bugs can be bad and there needs to be more to do in the game but most people will understand those types of issues and stick it out until things can be put right. Rampant cheating, however, is another matter. I won't continue to play a game where there is no control over hackers. At this point, I would not recommend the game to anyone simply because of the cheating issue.

    Why this mod is failing

I haven't read every post here but the mod obviously has alot of potential. There does need to be more to do than get gear and kill other players. I hope that eventually there is more to it than that but right now that is what it boils down to. The one thing that will destroy the potential of the game is not bandits but shady admins and hackers. Those two things will do more damage than bandits and bugs combined. This idea is already being copied and I am sure in a few years, you will have a few zombie survival games to choose from.

HACKERS IN 526 AND IN GENERAL!

I have been playing for two weeks. Game is a blast and it will improve. I just encountered my first hacker today- killed my friend via teleport. I am sure that the devs will eventually get a handle on the hacking problem. I think I will take a break from Dayz until they do. Just one question though- Isn't Battleye supposed to prevent this sort of thing? If it can't even prevent teleport hacks, what can it do?
