DayZ sound card advice

Hi, guys jus wondering what sound card you are using for playing wih DayZ, recently bought a headset and I am running my sound through onboard mobo. Its not too great!

What soundcards can you reccomend? I'm looking at £100 ish.

(Yes I do buy stuff all the time for worthwhile games)

There is some audio enhancing software that improves your onboard chip's performance. I've never looked into it before, but you might consider it before spending your cash.

As for soundcards... I have no idea and can't help ya. Good luck!

headset is ax 180, brand new bargain at £20 local CEX shop!

This is a mod and an extremely buggy one at that. Then factoring in the engine used to create the mod.....I'd suggest just putting up with the sound quality as of now and waiting for things to develop.

Don't bother buying a sound card unless you've spent a fortune on a decent headphone and can tell the difference between analogue connectors with different sensitivities (which most people can't). If you have a modern enough motherboard (<3 years) the on-board sound controller is good enough for any digital sound and differs barely from any sound card you would be able to buy.

ArmA doesn't need a fancy sound card like BF3 to give you the best sound experience. You could get away with an onboard sound card just fine...Just don't buy the cheapest of headsets or speakers.

Cheers for the reply's, Bought today a Xonar DG soundcard and some Roccat (I thought so too) Kave Headset, WoW, I can hear things in game I never knew where there, now i need to set up so i can chat in game!

Respect for CEX! Worked there for 4 years, most shops are pretty good :)

The Xonar cards are your friend, and I'm glad to see you got one.
