larkinwc 9 Posted July 29, 2012 (edited) I'm 14 and a clan leader, I have found tha age is never a factor in a community/game, its all on how mature the said person is(Tenko has a good point in his post above). The steam sale was good for our community because it brings many more players into it, and as rocket said a healthy community is one with fans and haters. wolf7115 8 Posted July 29, 2012 What fucking hipsters. There is nothing wrong with the community, but people whine about it once it goes mainstream. This happens to every community. People for some reason have the mindset that just because a lot of people play the game, it must be shit now. It's people like you, OP, who make this community a bad place. atlantis_risen 14 Posted July 29, 2012 (edited) The community hasn't changed. The metagame has evolved as people gain experience and realize zombies are actually quite boring.Just look at youtube videos posted by people who have been playing awhile. They start out playing one way and eventually end up playing quite another. Not because of some imagined change in the community but because of an experienced approach to DayZ.PvP? Endlessly entertaining. PvE? Almost instantly boring. Then players aren't using DayZ as a survival simulator as it was intended, and are letting it devolve to a deathmatch game. That's a shame, because as a zombie survival simulator, it's unique, and gripping. Random deatmatch games are a dime a dozen. Edited July 29, 2012 by Charon2112

Lysander_of_Sparta 43 Posted August 1, 2012 I'm 15, and I absolutely love DayZ. I've been playing it since before Steam Summer Sale, which is as soon as I first heard of it. I'm a CoD player and a BF3 player who's been looking for a good zombie game for a loooong time. I really don't like the mindless, "shoot-shoot-shoot" zombie games, and I think they get incredibly dull. So, I saw I video on PCgamer about it. Then a Minecrafter I'm subbed to started making a series (I don't play Minecraft anymore, but I do enjoy good videos on it). I thought, "fuck yes! Finally a good zombie game". I have yet to be disappointed by DayZ.Kudos to you, Rocket, for this genius idea.I just thought I'd share this with the people who think, "Oh noes! The DayZ community has gone to crap because too many 15 year old cod kiddies play this game".

Anton17 97 Posted August 1, 2012 I'd probably give the people that use Steam a bit more credit where its due, in my opinion. There's a reason its leading the industry standard and with a fair few veterans choosing it, Steam users can inject decent gameplay as well as valid testing and suggestions.Just, you know, that whole pigeon-holing thing? Yeah, it doesn't work. Even what you call "COD Kiddies" are invaluable to the community. There, I said it.
