Why "blood" instead of "health"?

Recommended Posts

Isn't the blood thing a bit strange?

Why isn't a player's health displayed/handled as "health" from 0% (dead) to 100% (fully healthy)?

Further, what is that amount (12000 or sth. like that)?

Having 100% or 50% etc health is much more convenient and less strange. Hmmm.... I've lost 6000/12000 blood... i.e. 3.5 out of my 7 litres?

You mean you don't measure how much blood is in your body every day?

It like to see both, actually.

I've seen people rationalize that the 12000 is a representation of quantity of blood...

But I'd be in a lot more trouble at 8000 than in game effects would seem to indicate :)

Why questioning silly aspects of the game instead of playing it?

Health is a measure of one's overall well-being. It's not as if when I get shot suddenly I didn't exercise last year, ate more saturated fats and refined sugars and took up smoking.

But, there sure is a lot of blood pouring out of me.

Because using Health Packs for a Health Transfusion would sound more like White Magic.
