The thing is just that you need to tell yourself that if you just spawn in Cherno/Elektro,you just have to do as quick run as you can, and you can get a crapload of stuff in no-time.

Especially on US 1. The towns were filled with Crossbows, drinks and food.

I died near stary today due to a broken leg and managed to run all the way back to my body to get my stuff, so not all bad and always worth a try if there's a possibility no one looted your corpse and you weren't too far north.

Today, I lurk in the forums giving the cold hard truth about DayZ that no fanboy is going to want to face, waiting for someone to come out with a better idea.

Currently, WarZ looks TOO easy, but it beats coastal camping. I hear some underground servers with their own hive is starting up and making servers where it's bannable to snipe into coastal areas or run along the beach camping corpses, so I may try again some other time. It depends on if they still allow for actual PvP, and I hear they do.

Never. The only time I died with anything good I was happy that I died. I had been keeping the gun out of necessity, not because I particularly liked it. It was starting to grow on me towards the end though.

And I finally got to change from the female character. Never saw one in game and I wondered what she looked like so I chose her. I figured i'd end up dead while looting elektro anyway so I went with it. Ended up being my best run. It was actually kind of frustrating.

Why did you stay and die five times? After the 2nd/3rd time I would have switched servers if it was by the same group. It's part of the game, deal with it. Not that I condone camping the coastline, I haven't even murdered anyone yet... but really now, the only "cold hard truth" is that this game/mod isn't for you - so please stop.

I've been sniped from afar. I've been shot in the back by people pretending to be be friendly when I was clearly undergeared compared to them, and they had nothing to gain from it.

I had a tent stocked with 3 almost three sets of full gear, including Alice packs, and assault rifles w/multiple mags.

A couple compasses. A gps. And two extra tents to transfer to if I died. I was eventually sniped by someone I never saw, while running around with just an axe and not even a backpack, looking like a complete noob. I went to bed and the next day couldn't find the server. I never managed to find it again, it was never up when I was logged on. I considered getting po'd, until I realized it took me less than 12 hours of gameplay to gather all that gear.

I had a helicopter dropped on my head once when I was camping inside the store in Cherno. Pissed off admin? Who knows...

I just laughed while having the increasing realization that the mod had pretty much stopped providing me with any sort of post-apocalyptic scenario.

You forget how intelligent, sociable, and decent us "carebears" are. I tried another server, helicopter making strafing runs on the beach. Of course you can't get another gun because you don't spawn with one, making the best target.

If I wanted to spawn into a match and shoot other people for imaginary points, I have another game for that. In fact, I have dozens of games like that. I survived for 3 weeks before a glitch picked me off, then this shit started happening. DayZ is not the survival shooter people claim it is, it's not even based on the soncept of survival, or zombies, it's just another PvP server like WoW, so why would I bother playing?

100 percent agree with that. Just another PVP mod. Grab sniper and run to Chern or Elektro. Camp Stary or NW airfield. Well.... if i wont pure PVP i play BF3 or MW3... but i was hoping that this game will be more than just a bounch of trigger happy kids killing every1 they see. This will defo ruin idea and point of this game.

They need to tweek zombies... lower spawn rates of snipers and powerfull assault rifles.... they need to do something with this.

Only when I got ill drinking water from a canteen on the latest patch, took me ages to find a well as I had no map and to start coughing and losing blood when I filled it up and had a well earned swig of water, that was bloody hard to take! Only time I cursed the game, and not my poor judgement.

I never felt like quitting but I have rage quit the odd time-once I had awesome kit and got an infection from drinking water, so I ran for the nearest town and found nothing, I then ran to the coast and made it a  medical camp where I promptly died before I could find antibiotics. The other time was on Namalsk where I was in a standoff with three guys who I could have shot but didn't and as one player came up to the roof I was on to get his gear I accidentally backed into a wall, which of course meant I went right over it and died. Then there are the times I got desynced while flying, not being able to blood bag in combat, getting bitched slapped by a zed 10 feet away etc-game is still fun though.

This game is a sack of shit, full of game breaking bugs and glitches. Character wipes, invisible zombies, pointless implementation of non-working tents etc, when they should be completely focused on optimization.

Like I said, complete Sack of Shit, feels like its made by a bunch of tools that are cashing in hard.

Nearly quit today but now I'm laughing, difficult vanilla server, spent nights with a buddy repairing a car/gearing up, geared up more found and repaired a ural with help of car, put both in completely different areas of map. Logged on ural gone lol walked nearly a hour on my own to car and car gone lol no tents so all gear away as well and my buddy is an hours walk away. Love dayz, still got waterbottle/knife etc I suppose
