Deuzerre 64 Posted July 23, 2012 So? I believe in the facts that the developers are saying rather the assumptions that some random dude spews out.And you probably have nice pink tinted glasses.
Nashy08 8 Posted July 23, 2012 I wouldn't say The War Z will be harder, it's for the kiddies who can't deal with DayZ. The articles on it even say it's less hardcore than DayZ, there's not even perma-death unless a server allows it. It's basically an MMORPG with zombies. Quests, grinding, and crap. wolfstriked 143 Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) ...................................IN SOVIET RUSSIA THE ZONE DEVELOPS THE GAME FROM THE INSIDE YOU TO OUTSIDE...................................Man these Russian game developers are intense.I just watched 3 of their videos talking about their new upcoming MMOFPS(Survarium). They are so intense that the developers video itself is creepy and scary.Rocket you need to up your interviews and get deeper into your story....man.LIVE AS IF YOU SURVIVE IN DAYZ....during the interview. ;) Here the Cartel speaks about free to play or pay to win as they debate in their own style. ostrich160 0 Posted July 24, 2012 Both, 2 awesome games are better than one, however it looks like our good ol' DayZ is gonna be much better, its taking much more of a hardcore game, it throws you in at the deep end and not only without a raft but you have to make the raft yourself (that was an awful analogy), where war looks like its not going to be too harsh. I want a game thats unfair and wants to kill me, it makes me scared because I know the zombies are buffed to the stage that if either they die or you do. Yes, the war z has graphics, bug-less gameplay and more powerful tech backing it, but when it comes down to it, DayZ is a new breed of survival game that has created an eruption in the gaming industry to create these hardcore game, while the war z is an RPG in a new setting, nothing more. s.taylor.75@gmail.com 23 Posted July 24, 2012 Day Z simply because War Z is striving to be an mmo. MMO's are lame, the last decent mmo was made about a decade ago.
thecrackmuffin 22 Posted July 24, 2012 This is why I love the DayZ community, the first two pages of this topic are "LOL FAG U R DUM CUZ U MAKE POLL ABOOT 2 UNFINISH GAYME." Fucking hilarious. I'm going to give WarZ a try simply because it has more structure and content than DayZ, and although I love the game to death, DayZ's mantra of "do something or die noob" gets a little tiring after the 50th lonely can of stale beans out in the wilderness. Some directive while trying to survive a zombie apocalypse would be nice. I'll always come back to DayZ though.

dallas 5195 Posted July 24, 2012 amazing, and then I get accused of advertising War Z here.Me, I'm just one of those basement dwelling asberger fundamentalist fanboys, but if you don't disclose conflicts of interest, you open yourself up to all kinds of accusations. And those with conflicts of interest should really identify such in their signatures, and stop using the DayZ forums to advertise their product and spam DayZ staff trying to get my contact details. mikerunk2011@gmail.com 6 Posted July 24, 2012 Look like said DayZ will have it's following but it will never be more then what it is. As long as Rocket holds the game close to his chest it will never be more then just a mod. The whole time he is making it he is giving all these developers that are making stand alone games ideas on what works and doesn't work. By time he gets it off the ground and as a stand alone game there will be a dozen Zombie Survival game out there and thus it will get lost in the shuffle. Like it or not War Z will have more players then DayZ. I don't know which will be better, DayZ or War Z. A lot of what I have read about War Z mirror that of DayZ. However till I play the game I can't say if it will be better or worse then DayZ. Only time will tell. However as I said unless he gets funding the game will never move beyond just being a mod. The whole time other developers will reap the rewards for the work he has done because they will use the thing's he has developed. War Z has flat out admited they have used some of the ideas that were in DayZ to help them with War Z.I think at the end of the day though DayZ will always have a following. I don't think it's going to die. I just don't think it will ever be anything other then a mod and that is not because the game sucks but because Rocket is holding it to close to his chest. sixbarns 217 Posted July 24, 2012 I know nothing about WarZ than what they've claimed the game would be. There are no screenshots. There are no videos of it playing. There's no proof it even exists other than a guy from a pay-to-win company claiming it exists. I'm starting to think half of these WarZ threads are started by WarZ marketing gimps. finalstraw 193 Posted July 24, 2012 They could have started work on it before DayZ as they claim but they are clearly jumping on the DayZ bandwangon and it's almost a guarantee they have taken note of what DayZ is doing and likely had some influence on the design and features of the game. It's still early yet. Oh well, a bit of competition is always healthy and I forward to trying it.
iomegadrive1 9 Posted July 24, 2012 You are going to come on these forums dedicated to DayZ and post a stupid poll which a majority of the DayZ fanboys will go crazy for. A majority of the people on the forums get moist when hearing Rockets name so how could you expect War Z to get more votes? Kind of pointless.

Scutticus 14 Posted July 25, 2012 I am afraid you can make a decision here: Day Z is a game that you can play, War Z you cannot, therefore, Day Z Is better...(Has anyone noticed the two letter difference in the name...and they say they not ripping them off...) Scutticus 14 Posted July 25, 2012 WarZ has apparently been in development longer sooooooWhat prove do the developers have? They have said it was in development longer, but who says they haven't lied?? :/
Kaizokugami 3 Posted July 29, 2012 Registered simply to reply to this thread. What prove do the developers have? They have said it was in development longer, but who says they haven't lied?? :/As much proof as there is that they're "lying", none. Tons of games are in development for a long time before any official screenshots and gameplay are shown, in fact some games aren't even mentioned until the company has something worth showing or something worth talking about. This is one of the most common facts in the gaming industry so it's not as uncommon as people here seem to think. And developing a game takes time so it's not all that strange that there isn't any gameplay footage other than screenshots right now. People saying that War Z will utterly fail simply because it doesn't have any gameplay footage other than screenshots (actually, some people here seem to think there aren't even screenshots of it, which there are) is just the barking of small insignificant pups.Everyone bashing and hating on War Z are just afraid that it'll actually be better than their precious Day Z (mind you I play Day Z too and I love it) because they're biased fanboys who can't deal with the fact that something that could possibly be better than what they love playing is on it's way. And because it might actually succeed and that it has a similar name to Day Z people are calling War Z "ripoff" as an excuse to make themselves feel better. No matter how much or long I ramble about it the general idiocy of people can never be fully comprehended, they bitch and complain simply for the hell of it.Inb4 all the narrow minded fanboys start raging. I've braced myself for the hate.As for the poll, I voted both. I'll most likely get War Z but I'll keep playing Day Z as well.

Keunus 0 Posted July 29, 2012 everybody that voted for Dayz is a retard. The War Z is not even released yet and dayz is already better? Freaking idiots....And no, The War Z is longer in dev then Dayz, so no real reason to hate on it. WarZ is also going to be a stand alone game with a budget. Dayz is just a amazing mod that people work really hard on in there spare time.Maybe Dayz will beat Warz when it becomes standalone but now, I think WarZ will beat Dayz just because of the fact the team is bigger with a higher budget and build from the ground up to become a zombie survival game. Just dont vote for Dayz, looks really dumb
Grodenn 53 Posted July 29, 2012 2. the zombies could be buffed (better/harder to avoid than the current dayz ones)3. it's a ripoff of dayz (yes it was made first, but in everyone's eyes, since it was announced second, it seems like a ripoff. whether or not you consider this con when choosing is completely up to you)4. overall gameplay could be far more difficult (less food, less ammo, more zombies, whatever other complaints you have)How are any of these cons? I mean harder zombies and more difficult gameplay is what is needed for dayz for a more intriguing game. The zombies are way way to easy right now actually kinda retarded how easy they are. CarloNord 29 Posted July 29, 2012 (edited) You can't make any decisions yet because THE BETA ISN'T EVEN AVAILABLE YET. So you can't say "oh what ya gunna do?" quite yet. Personally, I'm going to try it, I've registered for the beta and am waiting a response, it looks more player friendly as in the idea that it's not too hardcore. Now, I've been looking for a hardcore game that isn't too evil and makes me sweat (the first game that's been able to do it to me ever), and DayZ has done it, I don't know about The War Z since it looks more social.
