Hello/Friendly/Don't Shoot

Did a few searches, I'm certain this will have been suggested before...but maybe not in this exact form;

In short: A shout hotkey that will shout a phrase such as "Hello/Friendly/Don't shoot".

Obviously, shouting will attract zombies

Or... you could use direct comms and say that with your mic.

Point taken. But this would be a Mic-less option though.

it could also have a longer range than the local chat... as you are shouting at the top if your voice, rather than just talking audible only in your immediate surrounding.

About the same audible effect as the lee Enfield, if you see what I mean.

could also be a "HELP ME" shortkey, same effect.

I rather hide, but learnt the hard way to kill or avoid other players. even if you find somone "friendly" he'll shoot you in the back in a while...

Nice Idea mic volume is to low sometimes. So u could be sure this way. But only nice don't think it wil solve the shoot on sight prob.

Obviously, shouting at the top of your voice would have it's advantages and disadvantages. It would be as audible as a gunshot.

bandits could use it to lure survivors to their doom, and survivors could use it to try and find other survivors...

then it's just down to a matter of trust.

I really like the idea of being able to set a line of text as a hotkey/quick response.

It's actually not. Human nature is primarily to survive as an individual, true, but above that to survive as a race. It's why we get people that do heroic things such as charging in to die so that others may live. (Or why you may give your live to save family and friends, etc) People shooting everyone on sight is purely for personal gain with no penalty as you aren't actually murdering a real person as you would be in real life.

Trust me when I speak from experience: any short-cut keys will have a minimal impact on the game one way or the other.
