I dislike lootmaps.

I dont understand why people have made these maps.

Frankly this game would benefit more without them.

I feel this is a major crutch to the immersion. I hope maybe in the stand alone they are more random spawns, not as predictable as these.

When I first started playing I didn't use them, and now that I'm more experienced I don't need them.

I do use Vehicle maps, not sure if you consider them the same.

I wish loot spawned randomly through the map not just in a place. This would destroy the ServerHoppingLooters mostly.

And loots have a bigger chance to spawn in towns/cities and lower chance to spawn anywhere in the map.

Well if the loot distributed randomly through the entire map it wouldn't be to realistic, you know find an AS50 in a barn.

and if it ever is hope rocket makes loot/items/resources four times as rare.

Despite my memory of the map, I really should not have a set routine of where I'm going to go.

Or at the least, to plan one shouldn't be so easy; I'm just going from one deer stand to barn to deer stand and looting any helicopter I can find.

I wish I was as lost as I was the first time I started playing.

It's completely out of your control. Either use them or don't use them. Worrying that they exist has no chance of changing the situation in any way.

randomized loot spawn is the way to go. if they got rid of the high end military loot...especially nvg and thermal crap....i think immersion would be better.

The choice of it being there is enough, dude.

I should not even have the idea that there is something to fall back on should my character fall through hard times.

I'm pretty sure that loot will disperse much more erratically as development progresses. I think there will still be high spawn/high PvP areas but I think the game will have military loot spawned by wrecked hummers, jeeps and checkpoints at some point. That is, if we stick with Chernarus as the game's sole map.

It means actually investigating places that might spawn loot as opposed to places that you're bound to walk away from with something useful.

I am speculating completely though.

HURRR DERRRR It's a zombie apocalypse and I need a good gun. I wonder where the army keeps military weapons?!?!?! Can't be at the airfields or the military barracks!?!?!

Sadly thats just the way some people role. They look for every advantage they could possibly get, from disconnecting and maneuvering to another sever before coming back to the original, to mining loot. If it didn't also effect me I wouldn't care, but the fact is people who use programs such as loot finders and cheating do effect me, so I do care.

Yea, they are lame but you cant do much about them.

Hopefully in time all buildings will have interiors and then some can have loot, some can be full of cans and trash. That will make it more hit and miss and not a promised piece of lot in the same places every time.

I should of added more anyway what I am trying to say is.

I am trying to show support for anti-loot map by making loots spawns more random and unpredictable in the stand alone game. Because frankly...i dont see it being done in this mod.

To the guy who said soemthing about the as50.... Heli Crash Sites are fine.

No matter how a game is designed, things like loot maps come out and are eventually used. Get over it or stop playing games.

That said, it would be nice if things were more random, but in game design, nothing is random. Nothing. Not even random number generators are technically random. I would love to see heli crash sites be a progressive thing where the chopper itself physically is seen coming in, burning, and hitting the ground somewhere. But yea right.

It's 2012. This is how games are now. There is a wiki for every game as soon as any significant number of people start playing it.

The problem is not the existence of loot maps, but rather the fact that the game is designed such that an external loot map is useful.

I am pretty sure its possible to make it less useful. With technology these days and all.. Arma is pretty old so I expected it there.

Sadly the way the game is built, zombies and loot are tied to buildings, make a map of the buildings and you indirectly know the locations of the loot spawns.

There is nothing wrong with information as 80% of the time it is useless what with all the random loot that spawns at said locations.
