Head north away from the coast and the big cities on the coast. Once your inland your encounters with players will drop dramaticly and you can "learn the game". Friendly player encounters are few and rare because most of the players seem to feel that in a crisis your first instinct is to shoot and hunt fellow human beings rather than team up or they see this as a giant deathmatch game...lol

First of all, you shouldn't be running up to people and trying to chat. Noone is going to trust you. You should be evading them or hiding from them, if not shooting them yourself. Secondly, why the hell is this in suggestions?

One more thing, find a group to play with.
