Why are some servers darker at night than others?

Recommended Posts

I went to 2 different servers that had close to the same game time, one of them was dark and everything had a grey tint to it while the second server was pitch black. How does this happen?

Did you check gametime in-game or just by servername?

Also, there are clouds.

Some servers have different weather. On a moonlit night, you can navigate. If there's cloud cover, you're going to need a torch or NVGs.

Hello there

Gametime date can also count as it affects moonlight. (tip: you can use stars to navigate)

In some servers though it does seem as if the nighttime is more dithered and blocky on some compared to others making it very hard to see.

I dont know what causes that.

Fog/clouds/moon/twighlight. Loads of thing can affect the lighting levels at night. It's a pretty complicated lighting system. Underrated too in my opinion.

Don't servers have the ability to restrict gamma settings now? I haven't seen anywhere doing it though.

Is the moon phase a consideration or does the brightness from the moon not change?

Hello there

See my above post :)

Moon phase according to date affects brightness.
