Yesterday' date=' 6 friends and I set up a small camp outside of Zelenogorsk. The camp consisted of a barn, 2 camp fires, a shed that we filled with cans of food and water that we collected for a while, and the whole camp was wired off with a bunch of fencing.

We then proceeded to invite every player in the (full) server to our camp. We told them there was plenty of food, water, blood packs, etc. The first few people to show up were bandits but it was only 2 and we killed them fairly quick. Later, 2 players who said they had nothing to lose came to the camp. We gave them food, water and cooked meat since one of them was low on blood. They gave the all clear to the other players who were suspicious of us and before we knew it, we had a little over 10 PEOPLE inside our camp.

We let them all eat, traded a few stories, got along really well. We told them we were going to head NW to go get more food for everyone and they could stay back and chill, we would let them know if we needed help. The seven of us exited the camp, fenced it back off with everyone inside, we then surrounded the camp, and opened fire.

During the first few shots everyone was so confused they didn't know what was going on. Then they started seeing other players sitting around the camp falling over dead. After about 3 kills, the remaining 7 to 9 players began running around like chickens without heads looking for a way past the razor wire.

There was no escape.

Finally it was down to two "detainees" who hid in the upper level of the barn. They were in cover, ready to shoot at us if we entered. We didnt really know what to do from here as we couldn't get any closer. We ended up throwing every flare, glow stick, and smoke grenade into the barn. They both panicked and ran out of the barn through both exits where they were killed simultaneously.

These deaths were over pretty much nothing. These were all either new players or players that had just restarted after death. We weren't really looking for anything special to come from this. We didn't want loot or anything, it was just an experiment to see how easily people can be manipulated based on false hope.

And that is the worst thing I've ever done in any game.

I've explained it in another thread before so here is the short version:

Found a guy, said I was friendly, killed some zombies with him.

Then as he was about to leave Zelenogorsk I said I would heal him, but instead I shot him in the with my revolver...then a few times when he was on the ground, which made me feel even more guilty.

Later on I told him I would replace his items if I ever find him again.

I was in the tower on the greenmountain, waiting for my mates to come pick me up in our hippie van(yes, we love our hippie van so much)

And thats when i hear automatic fire outside, so i step inside the tower, open the door, just to se a freaking pickup just outside the fence.. (made no sound pulling up, so i was SHOCKED)

Then i see a guy sneaking arround the car, so i ready my M4A1 CCO and wait for him to pass arround the car, as he does he gets 2 bullet's to the head.

Later on, another guy is moving out the main gate, and towards the guy i killed, this was like 2minutes later..

He turn's to the tower as i press Q & E, followed by 2 fast shots to his face..

Then i figured, well, don't see or hear anything now..

Im just gonna go down and check the loot..

WRONG... As i get down the last step on the ladder, im getting shot from behind, there was a guy sitting there, just waiting for me to come down..

Im like.. Im gonna die, might aswell try and take him with me..

When suddenly i hear him stop shooting, HE IS OUT OF AMMO, im bleeding heavily, but i raise my wep, and unload 4bullets to his head..

Sat on a US Server with my DMR giving cover to my 2 pals who were in the firestation getting gear. Saw a survivor running with 3 Z's behind him towards the station so fired a warning shot "near" him. A little too near......... he use to be a survivor and then he took a bullet to the knee XD

So as the guys carried on looting in a paniced state, i saw the guy had got up again and start shooting at the station (assuming it was them who shot him.) So as i lined him up, half of chern's zombie suddenly turned up and he started to run to the hospital. Out of danger i thought i'd give him a hand and take out a couple of Z's. Bang, 1 down, 2 down lined up the 3rd and bang............

Apparently DMR rounds can kill 2 people if the head shot hits them both :D

meanwhile my 2 friends forget to comunicated and end up shooting eachother thinking the other is hostile........

if any kind soul feels the need to leave a few cans of bean near the chern industrial yard, a hungry soul who never ment to hurt anyone and is still waiting for a good meal after 2 days will be very greatful :D

I've wiped out a clan of bandits holding up nw airfield. 6 of them. Real nasty group, and I wanna give them credit for holding that place for 4 days straight, round the clock, even took out my mate. Well, after I spread word of my victory, alot of ppl on the server were happy to hear that they were taken out. Peeps started to head to the airfield only to arrive to their deaths... You see, I only just replaced the NW airfield with another type of evil... Zombie apocalypse is a nice excuse to kill human with out the police knocking at your front door

I was idle in Elektro church waiting for my friend to log in. You ran in with 10 zombies behind you. I killed all of the zombies and then put enough shots into you so that you bled to death after you ran out.

In retaliation, you killed my friend and bragged on chat how much you totally owned me.

You never found me, but I was watching you the whole time until I watched you get swarmed by zombies and get eaten. I didn't try to save you that time.

Spawned in the forest and shot everyone i saw in their knees then dragged their bodies in a pile and group executed them.

Killing people in the debug forest or outside map wilderness spawn is not cool. Rocket himself wrote a post about it. That's where people appear momentarily on the server before they're teleported to their normal positions. If you were to have people killing players at both positions, then every player who joined the server would be dead.

I was in cherno on a low population server. I had just looted a revolver on a fresh spawn. I see 3 guys in the church so I sneak in. They see me and say hey! I lower my guard walk up to them realize all three of them are totally decked out. They asked if I wanted to join their clan I said I would give it a shot. After about an hour or two on team speak with them I tell them I need to AFK for a minute. So they all chill and wait for me. When they are all in z flare throwing daze waiting I take the AKM they gave me and kill all three of them. Welcome to the apocalypse suckers.

In Berezino hospital, I shot some guy in the back with my crossbow. That poor guy went unconscious, so I stole his ammo, morphines, cooked meats and used epi-pen on him. He woke up and tried to shoot me, but soon realized that I stole his ammo. I shot once in the air, kneecapped him and ran away. For some reason only one zed went after me, so I shot it/him with my crossbow. The rest of them rushed into the hospital and killed that poor survivor.

After being killed so many times by Pkers, I got really paranoid.

I went into a fire station with the AKM I found going looting. In side chat, the server had it enabled, I saw people asking if there were any friendlies in cherno, I answered yeah and told them where to meet. Now one of the people arrive and tells me that he just got shot by 2 people outside. I got ready because I had died just about 14 times because of PK'ers. One came up, 7 rounds later 1 dead man. The other guy downstairs says friendly in side chat. I said "SAY IT IN DIRECT CHAT OR RISK GETTING SHOT" because I didn't know if the guy downstairs was the same guy in side. He peeked his head up and I missed 2 shots, he did it again, 4 headshots.

I felt sooooo bad but then again, ignorant retards deserve to die in this "new" world.

I really hated doing the act but paranoia got the best of me.

Following the rolling update to 1.7.1 my buddy Dirty Protagonist and I crossed back and forth between Electro and Kamenka on the beach looking for flashlight wielding respawns.

One survivor, turned, pointed his flashlight at us, and saluted us. Dirty Protagonist says in voice chat, "Hey dude you better run, my buddy wants to kill you." The dude starts to turn, and as his legs start moving he gets a half magazine of AKM.

1.7.1 is awesome. Zombies are dumber, and respawns can't fight back. Its magic. Rocket should make flashlights capable of blinding people. It's like he's rooting for the bandits.

So, I started a new character and did my normal looting routine all the while is this guy named rad asking for help in chat, and like normal I just ignored it. I eventually started making my way to the NW airfield in hopes of finding a ghillie suit and a SVD camo. Meanwhile this guy rad is stating that he is in the NW airfield with like 167 blood or something like that. This goes on from my time at the SW airfield to elecktro then all the way to the NW airfield, using a map to find deer stands. So say for about 3 or 4 hours this guy is in the airfield passing out. As i get closer he tells the server that he is talking to a friend in skype or something and he himself doesnt have a mic so he is posting his replies in the server.

As I enter the NW airfield this guy is still here, waiting for his friend to come save him. I looted all the hangars and noticed that the firestation tower was glowing red with chemlights, but I saw noone so just assumed they were airport lights (Derp). Now it was dark as balls so Im using my G17C flashlight to see loot piles. Im in the bottom floor of the firestation where in the chat he says "Either this game just bugged or someone is using a flashlight," and right then and there I knew what had to be done.

I began to climb the tower by barely pressing W so I moved forward but made no noise at all. But I was scared shit because I knew his friend was coming for him for just as long as I had been in the server so where was he? My heart was beating so fast as I ascended the tower untill I saw him, looking perpendicular to me so I knew he didnt see me, but he had something I wanted: The SVD camo, so I shot him in the face without warning and began to loot as he said in the chat "Bandit at NW airfield" (lol) as I loot I start freaking out because I dont have enough room for the SVD so I frantically have to decide what to keep and what to leave and Im going crazy at this point because I swear I hear footsteps thinking it was his friend.

At this point I dont know how to feel, this guy was sitting there for hours waiting for rescue and I made it in vain. I also hid his body after looting it for that extra doucheness. I feel bad for him but then I think easy pickin's and I enjoyed the feeling of superiority it felt good, my first bandit kill.

But karma's a bitch....

After done looting I log off, adrenaline like crazy I decide to go get something to eat. I come back 10 or so minutes later and make sure I try to log into a different server, but to no avail. So noticeing that he wasnt in the server anymore plus there were only like 4 people in it I join back and descend the tower using my flashlight to see....... The second I stepped out of the doorway to the stairwell without warning an automatic weapon empties into me and I throw a hissyfit losing the very thing I quested hours to get. Was it his friend? I dont know but it still felt good, and sorry rad but you shouldnt light up your hiding area and display all your plans in chat.

So I was making a run trough Cherno the other day and decided to hit up the hospital. I make my way up to the roof and I'm filling up my pack with blood bags and what not when I hear gunfire.

I look down into the street and see another survivor running towards the offices across the street with some zombies chasing him.

Not really wanting a shootout I message him in the server chat and say that I'm on the roof and I mean no harm...and suggest a truce. He agrees and I see him run off behind the office.

A moment later I again hear gunfire and see him running backwards with another zombie chasing him. Something inside me tells me exactly what I need to do.

I pull out my winchester, take aim, and fire a shot.

"WTF man! You shot me and broke my leg!!" he says.

I reply that it was an accident and that I was aiming for the Zombie. I tell him I will be right there to help and I have morphine.

I watch as he is crawling away from the growing swarm of zombies around him. I then take aim and finish the job by pumping 2 more rounds into the survivor.

"You asshole!!" he says as he dies.

I proceed down to his body and proceed to loot it of a 1911, a shotgun, all ammo and an alice pack and then made sure to thank them in the server chat.

I am a bad person. :(

This is more a nerve-thrilling story than sin; Yet again it was a dastardly deed.

I love traveling alone. It's the kind of thrill, loneliness and feelings of achievement you get. Whereas I enjoy traveling in a duo, or in large groups as well. It really depends on my mood.

My character had lived for 2 days when I decided to go into Stary Sobor alone. For anyone who's not familiar with the term: Goin' into Stary unprepped is a death wish. However, I kinda felt myself safe with the loving embrace of the night surrounding me. Sure enough I got out of the Military tents alive and nicely equipped with an AKM, DMR, lots of ammo, loads of utility, medical stuph and of course beans. My greed however, was not satisfied. I headed up to the supermarket, closing in from the south.

I went in through the main entrance and was taking a look at the things that were laying about. I carefully checked my surroundings outside earlier to make sure I wouldn't get backstabbed or zombied.

The next second I shit my pants.

My heart was pounding and I figured a surv ...

HOLY MAKAROV CRAPPATON, THERE'S TWO OF THEM.

This tension DayZ creates is unique. The inside me panicked, but the survivor-me knew exactly what to think:

#1:

They must've been in the storage rooms, cause I checked for possible threats earlier.

#2:

There must've been at least two of them.

#3:

There must've been at least two of them stuck in their inventory screen, kinda relaxing while lootin' stuff. ^_^

So I made sure my AKM was drawn and ran into the little doorway connecting store and storage. In a split second my instincts kicked in. I shot the right one, making him choke on that Pepsi.

His friend on the left tried to Makarov his way outta this situation, but met the same fate rather quickly. I didn't even get hit. The loot I obtained from them was worth the trouble. Hell, the trouble itself was worth it.

So, there I was, doing common banditry, while my heart pounded frantically and my sense of accomplishment tingled with joy. Those were my first two, survival driven cold murders. Poor guys, I can but imagine how I would've felt getting shot randomly in a location and condition somewhat safe.

I recently stole 4x nvg's. 1x DMR. 1x mp5sd. 1x m249. and alot of random goodies and ammo on the weps from a dead/bugged player and his tents. The joy :D

But also. The 2nd best moment in DayZ for me so far. I had lived for about a day... I was -severely- wounded. I had a -single- shot left in my revolver and i limped towards the next village in hope to sneak in and grab some stuff.

Someone sneaks up behind me and i think its a zombie! AH! IM DEA... wait.. it's a player! OH THANK GOD! IM SAVED!!! IM NOT ALONE IN THIS WORLD! . . . *stare* . . . *BANG! HEADSHOT!* . . . *loot.* :D

I was crawling down a field with 3 of my friends when we get our eye on 2 survivors running, they seem friendly. Tell them to stand still and that we have 3 snipers looking at them. We let one of them go because taking on 2 of them at once is too risky. We approach the person and we say we're friendly, want to team up? He proceeds to give me blood and says he has to run off and meet a friend, we let him.

As he gets about 50m away, we pump his body full of led.

its not about being fair dude, shoot someone in the back is safer than let him know u there. this is survival not common fps. if u feel that u need to take someone out without risk gettin shot then u shoot them in the back with a heavy rifle using NV.

After several lives getting shot at, me and a friend had decided to be the ones who shoot first. Honorable bandits if you will. If we can avoid you and we know you haven't seen us, we'll do our best to leave you alone. But if you so much as glance in our direction, we will shoot, and we will not feel sorry for you.

So, we're going into a small village on the way to the northwest airfield. The server looks rather empty (30~ players) and there's less than 200 zombies, suggesting most are out in the wilderness. We go for the water pump, because we were thirsty and free water is a-okay in our book. That's when we see someone outside of the enterable building next to the pump, likely with his inventory open. We exchange quick words and both go prone. My friend, who has a better view of that building's door chuckles real quick.

There was another player in there, who walked into the doorway, stared at my friend, then quickly closed the door. Since we figured the two were friends, we considered them to have seen us. We open fire and quickly kill the player stuck in his inventory. My friend sneaks forward, and I sneak off to the side to flank the building. Suddenly, my friend dies immediately. Sniper?

I kept going though, hoping they had only seen my friend, not knowing I was there. The one we killed had a clantag, so it was probably a group of three clanmates. I slowly sneak into the building. Door is open again, and noone's there. Noone's looted my friend's corpse yet. How odd.

I sneak around to the forest, to camp my friend's corpse for a bit, and that's when I spot one of them. Few quick AKM shots to the torso later, he falls over and bleeds to death. At this point, I know I've announced my presence, and I dash into the forest and hide behind a tree. I look towards my friend's body. Noone. I lean right and look at the one I just shot. Noone. I keep doing this, until I spot a -third- player trying to circle around the house. He, too, goes down, not expecting me there.

That was them, right? I go to my friend's corpse, and try to loot what I can. Tools, supplies, ammo. I hear footsteps behind me. Before I manage to close the gear screen, I hear a single shot. I break my leg and fall over, and immediately turn around. A player in a ghillie suit, with an SVD, walking towards the first one we shot. He didn't kill me. Did he think I was dead? Holy **** what an oppurtunity. One short desync and half AKM mag later, he's dead too.

And then all was quiet. Me and my friend successfully took out a clan of four in a firefight. Too bad he was KIA, but that happens. And I wasn't sure how to feel at that point. A clan of four, just looting a random village for supplies, got knocked off the map by two players. Sort of felt bad for them, but hey, I got an SVD. :D

This is coming from someone with thousands of hours on non-milsim shooters, like TF2, CSS and CoD. This mod is AWESOME.

I have committed many sins, but my most recent one was relatively abstract compared to previous ones.

Last night I just respawned and started out close to the airstrip. Fairly quickly I found a bicycle and made my way to the hangars. Where, in my noobness that was reborn in 1.7.1. I attracted a zombie. I ran helplessly when I saw a survivor with a CZ and a 1911 run away from the airstrip. I thought to my self. Ok he needs to help me. Running after him I scream in direct VOIP for help screaming that I have nothing and he needs to help me out. He doesnt trust the situation quite and keeps running and looking back on occasion when he realizes I really am helpless with a single zombie chasing me. He decides to shot the zed and I start talking to him and thanking him for saving me. He invites me to his teamspeak shortly after where there was a group of four of them wanting to meet up. I tell him I have a bike, so we run over to where I hid it in the bushes. Once there, we quickly attract a zed who chases us across the field. Me on my bike, no problem. but the poor bastard, Sakrag or something was his name, turned around to shoot the zombie and gets one hitted unconscious by the zed. I tried to help him in that I wanted to take his weapon from the alice pack. but the zed was feeding on him, so I couldnt help him. the zed ate him right in front of my eyes. what a LOL situation I thought. I left, came back and the zed was gone, so I picked up an Alice pack with 4 blood bags CZ with 20shots and a 1911 with plenty of ammo. plus a knife map watch etc. Equipment that was hard to get by as of 1.7.1 without killing 100 zeds. So I listened to them in teamspeak and they were obvious bandits. I talked to them and was telling them I was somewhere where I wasnt and instead was stalking them as they were scavanging for weapons in cherno after being killed by a bandit and loosing some nice equipment that they described to me. I had them in my sights for almost 10 minutes, but didnt decide to shoot them. even though I could have, but with the CZ I would have been chased by zeds and potentially risked my new gear. I had good intentions at first. I really wanted to be a nice guy and give him his stuff back, but as I listened to them in TS, I figured what would stop them from shooting me once I return all his equip. so I kept it all :) if you read this Sakrag, sorry man, thanks for saving my ass, but its everyone for themselves out there, I'm sure you understand.

This was on a night server.

Last Night..

It's pitch black outside, and raining when 3 navy seal sniper's come over a PBX that looks stranded by the shore north east of Berenzino and the lumbermill.

One of the guys check's if it's working, and to our great joy, it is in nearly perfect shape.

We refueled it and then headed out to pick up a seal infiltrating Elektro.

Minutes later after picking up the Seal we had at elektro we then continued to our next objective.

The island in the middle of the ocean..

It looks deserted, but one can never be sure, so we park the boat abit from sure and get in, apparently unseen..

We neak up through the woods, crouching.. trying to not make a sound to alert whoever could be camping there..

Place look's deserted, it's nearly to quiet here we thought, so we sent a spotter up in the radio tower to spot for us while we covered him..

The island seems empty, so we get back to the boat, after killing a cow, and roasting it to get some long needed food in our stomach we were ready to set our next objective.. Problem was that, at this time we didn't have a clear objective, as one of our seals found it interresting to disconnect in a moving boat.. So we waited for him to come back, wondering if he would spawn in the middle of the sea.

Minutes later. . .

Phoenix is back.. We can continue, when we suddenly hear over our teamchat that he spotted movement along the shore.. We slow down the boat and turn our vision to shore..

We saw a light moving up and down.. Someone was running with a flashlight, and we got a good idea.. Let's check him out, so we all head to shore, then plotted the direction he was running and then we crawled into ambush positions...

"FREEZE BOY, TURN OF THAT FUCKING FLASHLIGHT RIGHT NOW!"

"MOVE A MUSCLE AND DIE!"

We proceed to check his backpack, sadly he is butt naked basically..

Freshmeat we reconed.. We didn't wanna kill him, we aren't that heartless..

So we told him to turn on the flashlight, and then he saw the decked out seals infront of him..

We told him to follow us, and then we brought him to the boat..

We got him to jump in and then we ended up bringing him out to the abandoned island..

Where we dropped him off, to fend for himself..

"he thanked us for the trip, but as he couldn't see where he got left off, since you need NVG's to see where you are moving durign night, while in vehicles, he simply wrote.. "Thanks!"

We responded with a certain "Anytime mate!" "Enjoy your stay!"

Inwhich i think he figured something was wrong, as we drive away we are laughing so hard we are crying on mumble..

Fantastic moment in DayZ, and one of the funniest event's i've been a part of.

Big kudos to whoever we jacked, the fact that you didn't disconnect makes you a legend with our gang..
