If you were smart enough to notice that I've only been here for 2 days then you'd realise that how am I supposed to know that Rocket has announced that PVP will never be disabled "in any way shape or form"?

For being here only 2 dayz, you tend to spit a lot.

Maybe you just read forum for 4 weeks, realize that all ideas have been posted and replied to already and check the "rocket said" article some excellent stalker has set up.

I agree with Worrun, It is not right the way the servers are set up, there should be PvE servers, but yes, as to what everyone said, there needs to be a seperate character, after all you could loot the PvE world, and then go to PvP and reak havoc.... Let us face it, this game will never have the true realism on killing, people come in here just to kill others, perfect example, i got killed twice today, both by players... i was on the outskirts of Cherno when i heard gun shots, the zombies were running away, so i took it as the perfect time to get to my recently killed friend (who got mauled by zombies) then all of a sudden two guys snuck up behind me with gille suits, sniper rifles and machineguns, shot my legs, breaking them, and yelled at me "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET MOTHER FUCKER, THAT'S WHAT YOU GET!" I did not do anything to him, I did not engage him in anyway, nor was I carrying anything valueable... he broke my legs and left me to bleed... tell me who would do that in real life? Then later after I finnially bled out since I could not respawn while passed out... after many attempts to get to a good area.... i found food water and a chevex (or how ever you spell it) backpack.... my friend was in trouble so i folled the powerlines to get to him, staying in the forest staying out of sight, every single precaution... then all of a sudden half way from the run from cherno to electro.... someone that i did not see at close range (more than likely had a gillie suit) shot me with either a shotgun or high powered rifle.... and took everything, no warning, no attempt to make contact, i did not have a weapon so he did not feel threatend... just cold blooded murder.... that is not realism... that is.... heartless. the real world is not heartless, would you be able to pull the trigger and kill another human being who did absolutlely nothing to you, would you be able to take everything from them that they worked so hard for.... would you be so coldhearted, ruthless, un -careing.... this is not realism this is torture to those who try to be friendly to others, who try to be human beings... we need a place for those who are tring to play with others with true realism. PvE and PvP should be options, but seperate, let the minds work together not be severed by those who kill just to kill, or even worse, kill just to laugh at their misery.

I know alot of people will NOT like this idea and I don't give a shit, there will still be normal servers.

These PVE servers will be solely for players (such as myself and MANY MANY others) who enjoy playing with and meeting other players without the risk of being decapitated for your matches. So this server would simply have friendly fire turned off so that you couldn't kill other players. That way, everyone is friendly (because they chose to join that realm in the first place) and the first person you meet can simply be your buddy for the time being :)

I'm not the best at English and presenting my ideas but I think I get the point across pretty nicely :)

Several dozen PvE only zombie games already exist. Go play those. If you remove PvP from DayZ you ruin the game experience.

Now lets sort this out for a few minutes while i'm typing this.

You basically want to make PVE servers because your heart cant take the tension of having the possibility to being capped with every step you take. You my friend, are 2 days old on DayZ. A guy with the play experience that you posses at this point should not be thinking directly to make PVE servers on DayZ. Read on and you will figure out why.

The moment DayZ was created, PVP was introduced directly along with it. Rocket did this because he wanted a horror action genre type of modification. He did not want a My little Pony wonderland. He wanted a max realism modification themed in a zombie apocalypse with realistic measurements, horde's and possibility's for the player. Not only the gameplay was focused on this but also the weapon choice had affect on this. Why do you never find a thermal vision weapon or you take 20 days to find a pair of nightvision? Because you wouldn't walk outside in a zombie apocalypse and see a rocket launcher, a heavy material rifle with thermal scope and a nightvision laying there by themself waiting for you. This game is a max realism simulation of what can possibly happen in a zombie apocalypse. Now when i say that we remove the PVP section of the mod, you will disagree aswell. Why? Because when we delete the part that brings the most thrill in it, its going to starve the mod like an anorexic cow. PVP is what makes this modification have the title realism. In Real life a guy would aswell run up to you, gun you down just to get himself to live another day. This is not a modification based on brohugging and clusterbanging. This is a modification based on everybody for themself. If someone kills you, it can have 3 reasons. Sports, Security, Resupply. They either shoot you for the murder kill, shoot you to make sure you dont backstab them, or to simply refill their water & food. PVE would literally ruin the game by dragging out those aspects, making it something as like [instert crappy game here]. PVP is one of the three turbines this plane is flying with. PVP, Survival, ZOMBIES. I think i said enough.

Well...besides all the troll comments, this IS a bad idea. Even with separate servers and character saving, you're still splitting the population in such a way that the primary victims of a large group of players would suddenly be gone, and be perfectly safe. To be honest, these servers wouldn't be worth the development time, and would fall flat within a couple weeks, once the people in the servers learned how to play the game, and figured out how boring just fighting zombies is. I'm not a bandit. I avoid PVP. But I don't want it gone. It makes the game interesting in such a way that very few other games can replicate.

I do not want this implemented, and if it ever is... It shouldn't be official. It's a waste of dev time.

Just stop and think for a bit how boring a server without PvP would be. After 10 hours of play you have everything in the game, even maybe a helicopter if you are lucky. What do you do now? Infinitely farm NWAF so you have 1000000000000 weapons? Then what do you do with that? Shoot trees? The main reason there even is high end gear in the game is solely for PvP. Just think about it for a minute. Even a low-tier pistol can 1 shot zombies, why need anything bigger?

The game is so boring without PvP. I don't even go out my way to kill other players but the sheer adrenaline rush you get from seeing another player, not even having him shoot at you, as an experience unlike any other.

PvE would just get boring after maybe a week for the most fanatic "MUST HAF UBER 1337 GEARZ" boys.

Simply No. The mod is way to easy without bandits. Especially if all 50 Players on a server are forced to play together. It is kinda like singleplayer then, just easier.

Just stop and think for a bit how boring a server without PvP would be. After 10 hours of play you have everything in the game, even maybe a helicopter if you are lucky. What do you do now? Why not let new guys play on PvE servers? if they are that boring and will eventually go to PvP servers so whats the problem? oh yes you wouldn't be able to shoot noobs ahhh.

1) It is just people trying to troll each other

2) No one has actually given a decent reason why recruit servers shouldn't be PvE, It won't ruin you fun that really green players won't be around for you to nick their bandages.

Just because you have a personal preference doesn't mean everyone else's is the same dude.

I have played this game for almost 1 week and haven't been to any cities or large towns and just survive by going to the smaller farm towns and popping off zombies and traveling. I haven't come across any people that I have had a fight with and I have only seen 1 person and I let him pass without seeing me.

Some people like myself prefer this game without the persistance of other players attacking all the time :)

I do not say "Shut of the pvp, only pve should be allowed", so why is everybody whining like "stop the pve shit, pvp its the way its meant to be played."

If you think so, fine, go ahead, play pvp as long as you like, if you define the end game as pvp you are free to do so.

For me, I define the game as "survive the zombie horror", and that means fighting the zombies and not other players. And yes, I play l4d 1-2, but I wanna do that in dayz too and I know its possible without much hassle and without ruining the game for the pvp addicts.

I played dayz for weeks, made mayself familir with game, mechanics etc etc, and still I would love to see pve servers for me to play on. And I am rather sure that its not that difficult to change the game in such a way that players would no longer be able to shoot players, propably just a value that needs to be set.

And sorry but: "Because it takes the fun away from the bandits that kill the friendlies? its just a carebear solution."

So the bandits are allowed to have the fun by killing folks that try to be helpful while those that wanna have fun by playing coop are just there to be target for the bandits?

Bet you would love that, I doubt folks that are REALY into the pvp stuff would miss those that would prefere the pve and go there.

I can only really see this happening when either the mod is in late, late Beta, or if Rocket makes this game a stand alone thing.

But even then I cannot see him catering for it, it goes against what he set out to do. If the vast majority of the player base (and I mean 70-80%) were all behind this idea and would walk without its implementation, then I'd imagine he'd at least think about it.

I'm on the fence in terms of support. I play "PVE" style on the current servers, I've only ever shot one person, through fear of dying. I stay clear of all other players, as my goal is to survive. I feel play this mod how I imagine Rocket wanted people to play it; cautiously and slowly, with a driving force alive, but also with a goal to meet and help others when its save to do so.

That's just my opinion at least.

Ok, Im out.

I could not care less for trolls that try to force their opinion on others whats "THE" way to play the game, but I dug around a little in the web and it seems that some of the stuff they said is true and that rocket realy decided against including a pve option.

So well, its their game, and if they made the decision to have it that way, its back to me again to decide what to do and thats simple:

Get the hell outta there.

I play game to have fun and for me its no fun to take the role of the victim for others who enjoy killing me. And I suggest leaving the game for to all who like me prefere the coop/pve style. Lets leave the pvp folks to themself.

- Sidethought: Dont they always say "a specific playstyle shall not be punished?". Well, atm those who try to be friendly and helpful DO get punished for their style....but anyway, final comment:

DayZ as a social experiment to see how people behave in a rule-free environment was a success, if you dare calling it like that. I guess its not far from truth that if society realy collapsed it would turn out quit similar, the strong preying on the weak and killing and bloodshed just for thrill and kicks.

But if it was meant as a test if humans would cooperate in the face of a common threat, it failed. The zombies are to few in number, to weak and thereby not dangerous enough.

So either, they should remove the zombies completely and make it pure pvp, or wastly increase the number of zombies and make them much stronger. Slower, more shambly, but stronger. I think then one would see more cooperation between players, even if its just for the additional firepower thats needed to clear a route to a supermarket for example.

But I doubt I will see either, so the waiting for a REAL zombie survival horror game begins again.
