It doesn't effect people who like pvp as they can go on a pvp server but is does effect people who hate situations where you log on with a character you have been playing with for 3 hours and happen to span in front of somebody who then kills you. If a few pve servers were introduced then many people would start to play the game again and many others would get the game. Also pvp charactors and pve charactors could be stored seperateley so a pve character can't play on a pvp server.

People could just farm stuff without a worry in the world on a PVE server then hop on a PVP server.

Terrible idea. -1

You're retarded if you can't see that there would be a seperate "hive save" for PVE servers. But... what can I expect from internet people? Fyi: I would never play on PVE servers, too dull, but people should have the option.

Then PVP and PVE servers could just be sepereate you bloody numbskull.

Edit: I really don't see what the problem is here, some people like PVE some people like PVP so why the hell now cater for both parties?

Because catering to the community is the downfall of every game. Once a game gets big, carebears flock like geese. Because the game is big they request features instead of enjoying the ones implemented. If you do not enjoy the features in a game, don't play. Please find a different game and keep your dirty little mits off of mine. WoW is your number 1 example. Also, CoD and D3.

"People could farm on PvE servers and then use that stuff on PvP servers!"

>>Implying I can't already do that in an empty server or a private server.

"But PvE servers would be too easy!"

Ok, good point, Rocket needs to make the zombie aspect of the game more difficult. Way more difficult.

Also to all the PvP'ers:

What's the point?

Don't you get bored spending hours collecting stuff, then killing each other over it?

Why do that when you can play any other FPS that gives you guns upon respawn...

The end-game is just a more time consuming version of a deathmatch fps. Why do people refuse to see that as flawed design?

The game is supposed to be a combination of PvE and PvP, but currently the zombies pose no threat and PvP is rampant, to the point of making me ask "why waste time playing this when I could play a better PvP game?"

@Worran Luckily it seems the PvP'ers avoid the wilderness, mostly just survivors I've encountered.

Oh my god can you bandits stop crying about how it would take away from the experience? because it wont. YOU who like being bandits and / or killing bandits DONT HAVE TO PLAY THE NON PVP SERVERS. The idea is there for people that want to make friendlies and are simply an additional set of servers, which in no way takes away the normal pvp ones. You dont like it? then the idea has nothing to do with you, come up with a valid arguement about why it isnt possible, rather than just saying you dont want to play it. and as has been said, if they make it so that any progress made on the non PVP servers was saved seperately from the normal servers, there wouldnt be a problem.

for those who want PvE servers( earlier i wanted them also) the problem with PvE server, that you will get bored of traveling from town to town to shoot weak zombies and scavenging ammo for killing more zombies. it will be fun for a couple a days but then youll get bored and youll have 3 options:

1 kill yourself via door and start again.

2 go to a pvp server to kill someone.

3 quit the game.

how do i know that? because i know places to avoid and thus im safe 99% of the time. and thats leads to the point that i`m getting bored.

the game basically isn ready for PvE servers, because it doesnt have much stuff to do for PvE dedicated players.

if game was a living hell(or at least some challenge) that would be interesting, even for PvE dedicated players.

I love how all these PVP zealots are such big shots, kill anything onsite, brag about it, but yet are effectively scared that a PvE server would somehow unbalance THEIR gaming experience in DayZ. Because that's all that matters, oh that and some false notion of what "realism" means. The funny thing is, they are absolutely correct. Instead of killing unarmed players that pose literally no threat, now you would potentially have to fight equally armed players. OH NOZE! Ironically, if I'm reading the sentiment of the community correctly, most PVE players would have nothing to do with a PvP server at all, lessening the likelihood of them sullying your precious hunting grounds to begin with.

So good, keep up the fabulous job of alienating a large portion of the people that love this game for what it could be, love playing it, and having their time, their experience ruined because for some reason, you feel that something that will not affect you AT ALL, will somehow ruin this game. And when the servers start going away, and the player base dwindles, and support sloughs off, just look in the mirror you self-righteous blowhards, cause it'll be your own faults.

Oh, and of course its not possible to make seperate saves for pve and pvp? *facepalm* Sorry but this is just lame.

Just like the "its an integral part of the dayz experience".

Sorry to point that out but neither you nor I are in a position to define thats "THE" experience here. Maybe for you its something else than for me?

So what the hell would be the problem to just make two kinds of servers, pvp and pve and people can enjoy whatever they regard as the best way to play it.

Full support on the pve idea!

So you expect the development team to stop updating and make servers because you want everyone to give you shit instead of fighting for it
