    PVE Servers

    Ok, Im out. I could not care less for trolls that try to force their opinion on others whats "THE" way to play the game, but I dug around a little in the web and it seems that some of the stuff they said is true and that rocket realy decided against including a pve option. So well, its their game, and if they made the decision to have it that way, its back to me again to decide what to do and thats simple: Get the hell outta there. I play game to have fun and for me its no fun to take the role of the victim for others who enjoy killing me. And I suggest leaving the game for to all who like me prefere the coop/pve style. Lets leave the pvp folks to themself. - Sidethought: Dont they always say "a specific playstyle shall not be punished?". Well, atm those who try to be friendly and helpful DO get punished for their style....but anyway, final comment: DayZ as a social experiment to see how people behave in a rule-free environment was a success, if you dare calling it like that. I guess its not far from truth that if society realy collapsed it would turn out quit similar, the strong preying on the weak and killing and bloodshed just for thrill and kicks. But if it was meant as a test if humans would cooperate in the face of a common threat, it failed. The zombies are to few in number, to weak and thereby not dangerous enough. So either, they should remove the zombies completely and make it pure pvp, or wastly increase the number of zombies and make them much stronger. Slower, more shambly, but stronger. I think then one would see more cooperation between players, even if its just for the additional firepower thats needed to clear a route to a supermarket for example. But I doubt I will see either, so the waiting for a REAL zombie survival horror game begins again. Signing off.

    And still some folks just dont get it. I do not say "Shut of the pvp, only pve should be allowed", so why is everybody whining like "stop the pve shit, pvp its the way its meant to be played." If you think so, fine, go ahead, play pvp as long as you like, if you define the end game as pvp you are free to do so. For me, I define the game as "survive the zombie horror", and that means fighting the zombies and not other players. And yes, I play l4d 1-2, but I wanna do that in dayz too and I know its possible without much hassle and without ruining the game for the pvp addicts. I played dayz for weeks, made mayself familir with game, mechanics etc etc, and still I would love to see pve servers for me to play on. And I am rather sure that its not that difficult to change the game in such a way that players would no longer be able to shoot players, propably just a value that needs to be set. And sorry but: "Because it takes the fun away from the bandits that kill the friendlies? its just a carebear solution." So the bandits are allowed to have the fun by killing folks that try to be helpful while those that wanna have fun by playing coop are just there to be target for the bandits? Bet you would love that, I doubt folks that are REALY into the pvp stuff would miss those that would prefere the pve and go there.

    Neat how some prove so clear that they did not read the post at all. "Zombie Apocolypse. That is all." Found in the beginning post: "In my scenario i don't see the entire world doomed. I rather compare it to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in which just a certain area is contaminated." But the unwillingness to realy read stuff and to accept that others may have another opinion that, if not shared, should at least be accepted, is what ruining that forum and the game as well. "You want pve servers? Screw you, its not how the game is meant to be played." "But it would make no difference for you but I would enjoy it more? And btw, who are you to decide how its meant to be played?" "Screw you, you not gonna get it!" Awesome attitude. Just like that "It has been said and shot already" crap. If you dont like it, dont read it. Maybe there is a reason why ideas like that spring up again and again? Maybe cause many people would like it that way? But enough time wasted on the trolls here....

    Oh, and of course its not possible to make seperate saves for pve and pvp? *facepalm* Sorry but this is just lame. Just like the "its an integral part of the dayz experience". Sorry to point that out but neither you nor I are in a position to define thats "THE" experience here. Maybe for you its something else than for me? So what the hell would be the problem to just make two kinds of servers, pvp and pve and people can enjoy whatever they regard as the best way to play it. Full support on the pve idea!

    suggestion on pve coop

    Some sort of base would be awesome. What happens when all is in playerhands is obvious atm, so, some sort of AI-controlled neutral base would be fun. That way players could trade, chat, relax a bit and plan on what to do next. For additional depth, players could help or hinder the base. Help by providing weapons, ammo, food and equipment to the defenders, hinder by stealing stuff or killing guards and the like.

    HORSES!!!

    Horses would be awesome. Faster travel, additional carrying capacity (saddlebags), who would not like that? Of course, just walking up to a wild horse and saddling it would not work, but if there are cows around, why not tamed horses? Feeding should not be a big issue with all the grass around, as long as you give your horse time to grass that should be fine. Water on the other hand should be wawtched, if your horse gets thirsty find a pond and have it drink. But one thing should be noted, since horses are easily scared, they should bolt if zombies come to close.

    More Zombies But Make Them Slower

    I love the idea. As mentionend by another poster, the zombies atm are more freaks, fast as hell, able to blink-port as it seems and way to mobile. Give em speed as in the vid, make them much tougher (need more body shots to kill, headshots should be 1 hit - kill) and increase their number, espec in cities. Oh, and let them be "fast" in buildings too. That would having pve servers (which I favor) reasonable too, I would just love to gather some fellow survivors and then try to clear a village/town from the infected.... Just have to repeat cause its important to me: This game needs more and better zombies. Especialy the bigger citys should have the streets crawling with them, not super fast but just so many that gunning them all down is just nno option for a single player. That way you would be forced to be quick on your feet, dashing from building to building, the horde at your heel, trying to grab what you can before fleeing into the wild again.

    Pvp, Too much of it nowadays?

    I´m 100% for PvE servers. Atm its (imho) pvp with some rare zombies added so it can be named zombie horror. And for those that say pve is lame, if there are pvp and pve servers you are free to play pvp if you want. And it would be easy to bann pve chars from joining pvp servers and vice verca so no one could go to a pve, grab gear and than hop over to do some pvp. On pve, make zombies tougher, more (in numbers) and game would be fine for me. I see no reason why that option should not be added, it would take nothing from the pvp folks but give something to the pve fans.
  9. Simple idea: Players receive survivalpoints for surviving ingame. Each time an amount of ingame time is passed (6 hours?), a player receives 1 SP (survival point). On respawn, players can spent their SP for gear they spawn with. Murder reduces your sp, 1 murder costs 1, 2nd murder 2 and so on. Killing bandits yields a reward, 1sp for each bandit killed. Forced respawns within 5 minutes of normal spawn gives you a penalty of 4 SP on your next spawn (cumulativ, bye bye spawn hoppers). 0 SP (basic equipment): 1 painkiller, 1 bandage, 1 morphine (at least until the issue with bones breaking so easy is fixed) and 1 watch (helps those who know how to use it as a compass to get their bearing) basic backpack, flashlight Items and SP costs (for each) 1 SP: Matches, hunting knife, compass, can of pepsi/cola, can of food, flares, chem light, bandage 2 SP: hatchet, canteen, 1 clip for a handgun, morphine, painkillers, binocs 3 SP: level 2 backpack, 4 SP: Makaraov, Tent, military clothing 5 SP: M1911, Lee enfield 6 SP: guli suit, Example: A player survives 24 hours (4 SP) and mananges to kill 1 bandit (1 SP) before dying. On his next respawn, he can spent 5 SP on starting equipment he will get in addition to the basic gear. He spends 2 SP for a canteen, 1 SP for some matches, 1 SP for a hunting knife and the final SP for a can of food. The list is not complete cause the idea is rather fresh, and I dont know all the items and weapons that are in the game. I just wanted to introduce the idea to the community. I think it would encourage players to be more cautious and do not shoot others on sight, and it would reduce forced respawns because of its penalty. Suggestion for the items and their sp costs are very welcome, should my idea find approval.

    Leg breaks after crawling through doorway

    Happend to me too, atm I think a broken bone with no morphin is a death sentence cause a) mrorphine seems to be super rare and b) you have to crawl into buildings trying to find one and crawling into buildings = bad idea....

    Injured when going prone

    This glass bone issue is driving me crazy. Sure, a broken bone is a serious injury and should hamper you a lot, but atm its just ruining the game in my opinion. 1. It happens WAY to easy. I got my bone crushed by: - zombies after they took a head shot when they stumbled forward and dropped (against me) - crawling through a gap in a wall - crawling over a doorstep(!) 2. Its way to hard to cure. Bandages I find in abundance, painkillers are rare but ok, but that morphine? Forget about it. And to make things worse, the fact that you have to crawl after you broke somethink makes it even more likely you break something again, causing additional bloodloss and pain. So please, either make it less likely that bones break or spawn more morphine. And fix that breaking bones by crawling over stuff thing, getting my bones broken by a zombie is something I can live with, but atm I consider the doorsteps more dangerous for my bone than the zombies....
  12. Hey, was ein glücklicher Zufall. Hab heute (19.6.2012 - ca. 18:00) mit Bleichgesicht und OmaOhneBH gezockt als der Server ausstieg. (Pitor/Peter). Vielleicht kann man hier übers Forum den Kontakt ja wieder herstellen, würde gern wieder mit euch beiden losziehen.
