Experimental 1.7.2.1 test patch

Are you able to put on camo/ghillie in 1.7.2.1 ?

Trying to install the 1.7.2.1 update, I downloaded and unrar'd to my @DayZ addons folder, and i re-opened SixUpdater and SixLauncher and nothing happened, apparently i'm still running 1.7.2?

Help Please?

SE 3 - 6 has wrong timezone since we've been testing in other timezone. Ill fix it later.

No fleshed out changelog until 1.7.2.2 later this evening.

Sixlauncher rolls back to 1.7.2 without telling you it did so, since it thinks 1.7.2 is the official release. Every time you run it you need to re-update the 1.7.2.1 files. One way to run 1.7.2.1 is to modify the beta launcher to include ;@dayz in the run statement. (You can find this on the wiki)

UPDATE : 13 JULY 2012

Affected addons:

* dayz_code 1.7.2.1

* dayz_anim 0.4

* dayz_server (server admins only)

Developer's Note: 1.7.2.2 slated for release soon.

Changelog:

* [FIXED] Issues forcing ghillie and camo skin removal on login.

* [FIXED] Arma X players should be able to play on updated 1.7.2.1 servers.

* [NEWS] Various performance tweaks that didn't make it in to 1.7.2.

Known issues:

* Zombie behavior and clean up requires further tweaks (excessive spawns).

Log looked like this 1 hour ago, has been changed since then...

I'll be there testing in about 9 hours from now !

1.7.2.1 is released now, and 1.7.2.2 is due out today or tomorrow. So I'd say the testing is over for now.

I don't know about that. Played on a server with it yesterday and it was pretty smooth.

Although, I wasn't using 1.7.2.1

i had no problems at all with 1.7.2.1 and beta 94876. maybe its because i do everything manually with no updaters etc. or luck ;)

anyway there were a lot players inside the servers.

Maybe you forgot there are 3 parts in dayz :

1/ client files

2/ arma oa patch

3/ server files (@hive/*)

I set up my server with 1 and 2 this wednesday, since 3 was no issued public, and it went fine. This morning I installed latest 2 and latest 3 since both have been issued last evening. Since this morning my server does not work.

Maybe you played with a server with another combination.

Saw a post on Reddit that says that Beta Patch 94876 fucks DayZ up.

The 94876 patch upgrades the version of the game to 1.61, all the other patches were at 1.60 so I don't think the new patch is backwards compatible with older versions. I've seen servers running pre-94876 telling me I have the wrong version, my 1.61 is in red and says required version 1.60. Also there is the red 'X' next to the server name so I think that's the issue.

But once the servers get updated then it should be fine.

Hi,

here writes a happy Arma X user.

I'm finally able to play with the latest beta patch (94876) and version 1.7.2.1. That's the first good thing this test patch brought. I'll keep my eyes open watching for bugs etc.

I have just done an unconditional restore of an unpatched version of arma2 + arma2oa, then applied ARMA2_OA_Build_94700 patch.

I have now v1.7.2.1/94700, and I have still the same error (below). So it is not the arma2oa patch the problem, it is the hive.

Previous version of hive installed, same problem...

Worse, my server did a core dump!

Maybe some server-side hive problem...
