Loving the new forum!

Recommended Posts

Hey Rocket and everyone,

Sorry if there is a thread on this (I couldn't see one). But as soon as I come on the forum today I was like "wow".

I love the new forum, looks awesome.

That is all :)

I liked the old one better. This one has a few new nice features I like, but the old one felt more user friendly and wasn't as big and bulky to flip through.

Seems like a bunch of wasted space to me. The old forums were more compact. You could take in more information in less space with less scrolling.

Actual threads look good but I don't like the forum sections. Thread titles and images are too large. It was nice and concise before.

Editing is bugged too. Once "save changes" is clicked, the changes are saved but there's no feedback to the user.

Pretty interesting for sure! Will take a bit to get used to!

I like it more than the old forum, as the old forum engine was sort of busted and outdated in a lot of respects. (Images weren't displaying, poor format, etc.)

To the people who don't like that there are now by default more posts per page, that's always something you can alter in your forum settings -- just like in the old forum engine. I hated that there was only 10 posts displayed per page because that made a thread which in reality only had like fifty posts five pages long, which was a pain to flip back and forth through to read user interactions during a discussion.

EDIT: Not to mention that posting to a thread is so much more smooth now. None of that "Submitting post... Transferring to post now..." nonsense that's been around since 2001. It's all much more fluid and professional rather than a college web design student's summer portfolio.

EDIT2: Oh, and the fact that there's now actually a divider between a user's post and their signature is a huge help now that people's random "zinger" signatures ("I'M TEH BEAN BANDITO L0L!") aren't as easily mistaken for more of the person's actual post in a thread.

Better, yes. However, hard to read still. The Grey/Black/Red color combination is bad on the eyes, even though yes, it goes with the theme.

Don't like it. Font choice for the forums is weird.. Look at the work "clicked" in some threads and well it looks like "dicked"

The "new content" page is horribly bloated and waste of space and what is with that menu bar on the left side?

Its way to cluttered for me and I know personally I like the old forum better and won't spend as much time on this one compared to the old one.

Its hard to tell what is pinned and what isn't.

I have exact the same problem, because in the previous forum these were 2 separate sections. I think it's a matter of time to get used to it.

The bottom left of the board where it says "change theme" I changed to IP.Board. Way better on my eyes. I can actually read the forums now.

You can change the forum theme to a lighter scheme at the lower left of the screen.

I'm not seeing this option either. I personally like setting forums to display 100 posts per page
