=========

Regarding the map announcement and what was said/showed so far, I'm totally disappointed. I understand many things, I'm aware a bit how the game development works or how tough and unpleasant is working with DayZ especially, but this announcement is a pure spit into the face. So far I don't think it's game developers' fault, it's Bohemia Interactive and how they treat DayZ fans. My thoughts are in random order, but this is how I see the whole situation:

I honestly agree with you 100%. I love the game dearly and have been apart of it since the Team rocket days. But It truly is the bastard child to BI. We all know they are working on part 2 and have kept it on a hybrid engine because if they went all out Enfusion they would loose most if not all mods. And lets be honest that's what has pushed this game as hard as it has. I truly appreciate the work and thought these guys have put into it.

But Its like they really do not know what direction to take the game let alone what dayz really is. If they really did want what's best they would know that mods are fun and add life because they add new assets that let us enjoy the game in a fun new way, sounds simple right? for Example they know that one of the things that server owners do is set up stores for people to trade or buy items. But yet they is absolutely zero money anywhere. Now this is a heavily debated topic on this forum and many others but that one simple addition of stack-able bills would add so much depth and the ripple effect would be nuts. Traders having a forum of currency, the stick up videos, burning money to light a fire all would be added gold. But we haven't gotten it and shows that they truly can't see the direction they need to be taking. Role play makes up such a large part of the community and instead of adding simple items or mechanics to add depth they add a reskinned map that is already played out on PC. Have the Devs even heard of 5M?

Also they say its a survival game but yet THE ONLY thing you can really do is get gear, hoard items, and PVP. Base building is broken and pointless. They literary have a electronic push button code lock asset in game on the windmill in Livonia but not a working one in game? But no electricity bro, maybe solar energy? Or check this out for one second, how about.... They give us something more to do! BAM!!! Want us to interact with the environment? Give us a power plant to repair, maybe add a metal crafting mechanic so we can repair stuff like the power plant and maybe add armor plating to cars? While we are at it we should be able to repair the train and have to mine coal for the fuel. Think about it. They could put to use all of those construction assets.

You and your buddies find a server, Find each other, get geared up, fight to the power plant, fight to get the needed assets to repair said plant to achieve the feeling of standing on a mountain watching your city glow in the dark due to your team's hard work would be a truly orgasmic experience each time. That's how you give players a chance to create memories and immortalize a game. Image logging into a server and you see the power is on and the train is running you now know there is a well put together team on this server. It would either give a seance of fear or fight. Or fuck how can I join

Why not give us one big update like the police ADA that we see everywhere and a lot of guns?  How hard would it be to reskin the ADA and add a light? Love y'all but wish y'all would stop stalling or just give the game depth instead of new maps. Rust and ark have depth we have glitches and broken promises

Yes I don’t know who this person is. That has responded but I fully agree with him. Dayz needs to have a chance to give role-play to the players and more challenges and more equipment so we can enjoy our experience on different service for this game to succeed to the next level

if the creators of this game would only give us a chance to help the game evolve it will be a better experience for everyone who played the game and it will give the chance for the developers to have the best interest of their players

not everyone wants to have PVP or be Canon fodder we would like to have the chance to prove that we can survive in this survival game not just to be able to walk out and get shot as soon as we are resporned so please if you do have the best interest in helping this game evolve to the next level of survival listen to your players and the people that devote all of their time in Building the servers up to be a game that’s worthy of playing

@FirstHen97

Honestly I dont think that traders are needed for the vanilla. Its almost impossible to balance it and I personally prefer to play on servers without it, one exception are Stalker inspired servers because the gameplay loop is drastically different. But I do agree that this game needs more roleplay stuff.

Regarding electricity, there are electric wires in the game files, but they are unused. Running the whole electricity plant would be too much, but there could be some mechanics that let us use electricity for example to open some gates etc like in Livonia. Base building is poor, there is no proper furniture and almost every server had to add mods. Same with barricades etc.

And commenting on @Jason Hibbert, thats why RP servers exist. They usually prohibit killing on sight and things like that. But they usually have tons of mods and some of them are clunky.

I didn't say a trader I said add a forum of currency like idk money. And I never said run a plant I said get it back to running. The challange of getting all the parts together and taking the tome t go from cory to coty hittng a switch . Also could release zombie bears and wolves as a con to it . The game is not pvp and it needs depth and life not just walking around finding beans and screwdrivers in peoples homes. Yes we should be able to restore power as it will bring much needed life and goals to the game. You dont have to get it running you can play without it. and whos to say it bring back power to all of the map why not just a few towns. your to closed minded and want to keep the game stale.

Imagine running from people and you hop on a moving train? Or you amd your squad using it to move dupplies around? Its dayz not fallout dude.

I know its not the same game but rust has so much more only because of the game engine that can be fixed but they are waiting for part 2 beucase they are afarid to loose mod support and make everyone startover. Aka money. Thats why they are milking ps/xbox players with this "new map"

With all of these new misguided updates and the future of Dayz I don’t think it will last too much longer before people will turn their backs and find a new adventure game to play if they want to keep their players on this format they need to start to listen to what the plays want in a game and I believe a lot of plays are sick and tired of PVP or Hash environments. That will just kill them within the first 20 seconds of the game I have been playing this game for over 12 months now and I’m getting tired of the fact that you can’t survive. You just get killed every time you join a server. I’m still looking for the right server that will give me the challenge of survival not death.

if you want to bring out a new map, bring it out but as a survival where we have got challenges to expand our characters, lifestyle and abilities not just die

ever since the new update the game keeps on glitching and freezing as soon as you die which is gonna be tiresome for a lot of people. You need to restart the game every time you die as a character this needs to be addressed or otherwise people are gonna start moving onto the next, survival game and leaving this game in the bin

So they deleted my post again snowflake whoever did it. I didnt even curse or say anything slightly harsh. Calling someone close minded gets my comment deleted lol. Yes i called him close minded and said he wants to keep the game stale . Yall wont even let us hash it out. never once did i attack him. Grow up

No idea why do you want to insult me with that "close mind" thing, especially if I see tons of potential to develop. But you miss the point and reality, how it actually works.

For what you need that money if there would be no traders? In this postapo setting money is often replaced by nails or bullets. On roleplay servers you can have money as well but its almost always tied with having traders. Otherwise its useless even for purely cosmetic/fun aspect. And what is the difference between running a plant and getting it back to the running state? Its the same, seriously xD and imagine that FPS drop when whole city would have electricity. Currently few flares or spotlights can kill performance on decent PCs.

Regarding trains, one guy who joined Bohemia Interactive made a mod with trains. Result? Laggy experience for max 20 players on a server. Where is the fun? I would prefer more vehicle variety, especially since they are in the files sitting there unfinished.

@Jason Hibbert

Surviving on vanilla servers is too easy and boring, no idea how you cant manage it after year of playing. Maybe you've met some cheaters? 🤷‍♂️

I redid my reply and It didn't send it my apologizes. Look I respect your opinion but we both see dayz as something different. I understand that the engine can't handle  most anything and I did not take that into consideration when making those request. BUT it still needs something more than loot,shoot,horde,die,repeat. I like how rust has trains, planes, and automobiles. I like how arch has a very active, detailed, world that you really do feel progression. I like how project zombie is latterly a real life zombie sim. But I love how Dayz lets you be who you are or be a scumbag.

If they added things that are easy like, getting into the lie down position your blood and health comes back faster. Or the ability to siphon gas from cars or battery cables to jump start them? Just a lot of little things that can be down to breath life into it but the Devs keep missing the mark. I know they work hard but its obvious they are not doing shit until part 2 comes out. I just pray it doesn't end up campy and casual

Looks like they will add small boats with petrol engines and somekind of a power generator to run some facility and lighten it up and open some gate (similar to Livonian bunker?). So partially some things that you suggested are being worked on 😉 (based on experimental build)

I can't wait, this is going to be the best map they've made for sure by making it smaller. The amount of interactions and PvP will be insane!

@Kyiara By the way, I'm not sure if you still visit the forum (maybe just as a guest, dont know if you still have access to the account) but I just wanted to say one thing after few months. What was already disclosed with experimental 1.26 looks much better that the initial announcement and what was shown to the content creators that visited Czechia this year. I don't know if many things changed in the meantime or it was intentional, hard to say. For sure few my arguments raised in May can be dismissed now, however I still stand by some of them. But in the general I just wanted to say that if you (by you I mean the whole company, not you personally of course) show something, that will be paid, you need to give people serious arguments, not some blurry hopes and expect that people will buy everything only because they enjoyed the game for many hours. Some people probably were thrown off at the beginning when they saw first videos and information, which wouldnt happen if more details would be shared earlier. For example boats, it was said that there will be no boats but ice sheets will connect various islands. And now we got the trailer with boats confirmed. I hope you understand my point.

Cheers 😉

1. Announced already that rework of Sakhel is planned once it is released, just like Livonia. This really sounds like a joke to plan rework of a map that was not yet finished and released. 5 months of development, let's say 5 more coming - and you need to plan rework/update after release anyway? How is that fair for those who gonna buy it on release?

wait what.. is this true? Where did you get this info? Does this just mean sakhal will get released onto an experimental version first?

I think this should teach you not to jump to conclusions and judge a dlc based on initial short bit of footage. Not all gameplay elements are going to get presented in the first ever bit of gameplay shown to content creators. Best way to increase excitement and engagement with the community for a dlc is periodically tease new elements to the game as it approaches release.

I hope youve learned a lesson there.

It was said during presentation for the content creators. So map releases, after few months/yesrs they come back to it and make a rework. Just like with the Livonia.
