being able to mark maps in vanilla

i remember before 0.61 u could mark maps and they were persist. what i mean by persist is that when u give ur map to another player. the player that received ur map can see ur marks on the map.

it would be nice if they can add this feature again.

This would be a cool feature. Leaving maps for someone to find with a X marked on it!

Were they actually persistent? I remember that once you log out, those tags would disappear.

Also would be cool if there would be hidden stashes generated by the game and each ingame map you find would have one of those hidden (maybe buried?) stashes marked so it wouldnt be an item that 99% of players dont pick up

in 0.61 yes they would disappear but as far as i remember before 0.61 when you marked something on the map it would stay forever until

I thought I could, until I tried it. Really should be a part of the game, also bring back writing utensils. I really would like to make notes of my journey and progress.
