DAYZ PAPER AND PEN PLEASE

Hello bohemia, im a fan of you guys and wanted to thank you for all that hard work, i would like to say if you guys can add the piece of paper and the pen or pencil so i can start put messages and clue for the players, treasures and all that,  one of my 2 thing in my personal life is reading, and play xbox, so yes, im a reader but i also play dayz, my gamertag is CAZADOR 705, i just hope you guys can read my message, i have been waiting for that pen amd paper a very  very long time, but its ok, only you know your reasons, well, i guess thats all i have to say, thank you very much and thank you for your time.

with the release of 1.0 they promised everything will come back what was once in the game. i dunno how much that promise is worth... but im also really waiting for written notes (modders brought that back quite fast - dunno if the devs really plan to bring it back in sadly.) same goes with the books... they still in the server files for ages, but cant use them.

adding more guns seem to be more important for them. balancing the game (or: rolling dices) is their focus right now - goin from one extreme change to another.

maybe in another year.

Apparently people couldn't behave so it get removed... or so the rumors say.

Would you like if your game that you just released get a ton of screenshots of racist texts and other insults surfacing on the internet? I wouldn't.

i highly doubt thats the reason for not havin notes. if people want to bring their poor attitude via notes they can easily be banned by server admins, cos this notes are logged.

an official statement for that would be highly appreciated. same with the books.

also i dont need written notes to not behave in the game. i can still insult others in many ways, so why not in written form? murdering, torturing or eating other players seem alright. but insults on written notes is a problem?

on the other hand - cannabis for example was removed, so i wouldnt be surprised.

They never gave a statement about notes from what I know, but DayZ subreddit mod did say that it might have been removed because of that, so there might be some truth to it. All of this is just speculation.

They did give an answer about books on twitter.

So yeah... it will probably maybe possibly have a chance of being added once the core gameplay loop and major game issues get fixed, but... I wouldn't expect to see them in-game anytime soon, if ever...

Apparently DayZ was banned in Australia when it did have it, so they had to take action.

books are on dayzunderground server without any issues for quite some time. are modders smarter than the devs?

what i liked most about dayz is the huge variety of gameplay possibilities. seems like its more and more focusing on pewpewpew. its a sandbox game in the end. i remember very well the "book stores" by random people in elektro for example.

and yea, i know about australia and their big fear of cannabis, while they are ok with murdering, torturing and suicides. sigh

Wait until special snowflakes will say that people can write on them bad stuff and we cannot have them in the game because of that.

Get your shit together and stop complaining. People say and write on voice / chat non stop bad stuff and nothing is happening because of it. So when someone will write in paper that he is nazi and hail hitler then deal with it.

In the end you can be the cowboy who travel around chernorus, collect "bad" piece of papers and execute bad nazis. Go roleplay.

I suspect that inappropriate use of pen and paper is why we can't have nice things. 

That said, Minecraft has signs and books you can write and if I'm not mistaken it is coded so that offensive language is censored? 

I'd love to be able to craft a sign saying "fresh veg" and have a veg stall on the road to kamy.

I've seen some "Rust" australian servers on some big youtube channels... Huge bases with equally large NSDAP symbols drawn all over them - outside and inside. And nobody cared one bit about that. At least formally. So let's be frank - why disabling an entire feature just because it can be used to abuse others? It simply doesn't add up. Take guns then, cuffs, even cars. From what i know 0.61.138043 broke reading/writing/persistance of notes and it wasn't the first time. 'They' were supposed to fix that (unofficial statement) and it never happened - end of story.

Even more than writing some text, giving the player to make simple sketches can be nice.
Yeah people will abuse it but I doubt it will be that bad. Imagine finding a treasure map 😭

Yes, but it's bugged. Can be installed on anything (including thin air), text delete itself when letters limit is reached and more.

so what? theres mods for hundreds of weapons -  that doesnt stop the devs to add new weapons. i prefer content in the vanilla game, instead of installing various mods for features that were already in the vanilla game.

Well it should stop them, since we already have enough weapon mods ... and a working Note mod.

Instead of wasting time by inventing the wheel again, the devs should be focusing on something that the modding community has not done already.

That would be silly. You can go to Zenit Radio and broadcast any offensive things you want to say all across the map already. You can name yourself anything in the game.

It's just what I heard, don't know if it is actually the reason. You can write books and signs in Minecraft which is aimed at kids. They have a system of blocking bad language though. 

But yeah, I'd love to see pen and paper in game.

So pens were really removed because it's actually allowing people to write what they want? Still no in-game paper notes anymore on vanilla/official servers?
