Tonyeh 454 Posted April 5, 2021 I've been playing this game for donkeys years, and I'm still stumped at how characters are generated. I'm on a Spaggie Namalsk server at the moment and when I create a character (a bald male), I join the server and...whomp...I'm a female. How? I've tried multiple ways to try and get the custom toon to appear on modded servers (like Namalsk) and to no avail. Every time I join a server it's a random. Yeah, you click Respawn, and then another window comes up with: Respawn - random, Respawn - custom. It's a relatively recent addition from what I recall. Beside the fact that nobody would ever wear such clothes in automn (or at all) it is simply NO fun to look at your toon. Why not giving us at least the choice between a few basic civilian clothes ??? For fucks sake I am not even talking about rollplay choices which today is in as good as every survival game on the damned market. You are right, now in update 1.13 they are changing it to no clothes at all for that ultra realistic hardcore survival feel. You wouldn't wear a T-shirt in autumn, silly devs. /joking Jokes aside, I'm okay with it, but whatever. All I want for the endgame to be a bit harder... I've gone from the coast to Tisy, gone back to the NWAF, and back to Tisy and I STILL don't have hunger issues (I do find food on my way, but it's way too easy to survive inland. Food should be even more rare). I think the reason why starting gear is so bad is that they want to promote the randomness and progression of finding clothes. Jeans are better than half of the pants that do spawn in the coastal towns (or even more than half). Could be, haven't played there in months due to performance issues. Official runs better for me, somehow (maybe because official server I usually play on is high pop, instead of full like Spaggies). etwas 138 Posted May 3, 2021 patchnotes from 1.10: "Added a respawn dialog, offering an option to spawn with a random or the main menu character (shows only when server has a disableRespawnDialog parameter set to 0)" so this feature is obviously disabled on spaggies servers. dunno about official servers - its probably disabled too there. u can still play with your char of choice by leaving the server, choosing a char, rejoining the SAME server and once u respawned u have your chosen character and u gonna keep it with future respawns unless u change servers. Server admins can decide wether they want players to be able to choose their character or be given a random one every time they respawn. Spaggies servers don't let you play as the character you want. Or you get killed, log out see if you still got the same face you logged in. Either way, on Namalsk, it really doesn't matter what you look like, cos you have to cover every inch of yourself as it's cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey. It's just that one of the characters looks a bit like in IRL. 😁 Plus, Spaggies has also instituted a policy whereby you have to select a username. But you can't select a character look?
