Question about people shooting but not killing

So last night me and my buddy had been near Stary and we went to the tents. We finished looking in all of them and we where about to log off, when I saw two sniper guns and some other stuff just sitting outside/in the middle of all the tents. 5 seconds later I got shot from afar. Looked like bone was broken and I had the timer hour glass thing going on as I was laying on the ground (blood was going down to).

Next the sniper walked over me and looked for my friend (who had ran away, it was pitch black here to), but he did not notice I was NOT dead yet. So i waited and waited and as soon as the hour glass went away I healed and left the server.

Do people sometimes just forget to give human players an extra shot to make sure they are dead or what? Why did he not give me another shot and take my stuff? (We actually had alot). Or was the sniper just being nice to me and not fully killing me?

Anyways, we escaped that somehow.

Sometimes it's hard to tell if someone is really dead or not. Best indicator is flies buzzing, but that is almost constant in Stary Sobor. He probably just didn't notice that you were not dead.

And note: You got greedy, and now you know what happens when you get greedy. :D

I shot a guy once twice in the legs and lost him in the grass. I figured it was better to retreat while he was bleeding rather than get greedy and run up on him to finish the job.

well if you shoot someone and there is no message in chat that he has dies. Chances are he survived ;)

I sometimes take pot shots at peoples legs and then leave them alone, purely just to screw with them :P Even if they have good gear, they also need to know they are never safe.

It also leaves people more scared to be alive and hurt, then dead but atleast it is the end, theres no uncertienty in being dead.

well if you shoot someone and there is no message in chat that he has dies. Chances are he survived ;)

If your not sure someone is alive or dead and they have taken some damage you can if you have blood bags see if the option to give them a transfusion is there or not. If they are bleeding check if you are able to bandage them.

None of these options are available if the person is dead.
