coryh4225 2 Posted January 14, 2020 What is the difference between regular and official hardcore servers?
drgullen 596 Posted January 14, 2020 The way you have worded that equates to essentially the same thing. There are official servers and then there are community servers. For each of those, there are some that are hardcore servers, meaning you can only play on them using 1PP (First-person perspective). I suppose you could call either an official or community server "regular" if it has no modding (most call this a vanilla server) and can be played in either perspective, first or third. There are also modded community servers where certain aspects of the game have been changed using mods (like a map alteration such as Winter Chernarus, guns that don't appear in the base game that have been added, changes to things like stamina, health, food/thirst consumption, etc.) Does that answer it for you @coryh4225? You can easily modify how loot spawns using the server configuration XML files. I had a server running last year where I had no loot spawning on any of the infected, for example. No mods, no loot spawn alterations beyond changes in releases.

Can you please refer me to a guide that explains how to achieve that? I was able to eliminate canned food on my PVE hardcore test server but the zombies carry constant food deliveries. There's no real guide from the devs for any of this AFAIK if that's what you're asking...I just taught myself as I went along. I don't have the server files installed anymore, so I can't recall off the top of my head which file exactly, but one of the cfg***.xml files lists the things that can be spawned on the infected -- I simply deleted those lines so that their inventories were always empty. So delete the food . .. . Hermit/army/city/village
