generalmayhem 29 Posted November 9, 2019 I am no fan of nightime play and will quite often move servers maybe four times every time I come to play. Two Official and two community servers which I try to stick too though sometimes I get an invite too play on a different server again. What gets me is if I have survived and spawn out say near the NWAF North end near Topolniki why when I Log back in am I near Polana near Berenzino. It was suggested to me that it is maybe the system thinking I am server hoping for loot when in reality I am just avoiding playing at nightime.
supernick 33 Posted November 9, 2019 if you change server/get invited another one, spawn location is random, even if you come back in the former server. if you stick only to one server, you never have random spawn
HaseDesTodes 315 Posted November 9, 2019 as supernick said, you only get your location reset if you change servers. but this only happens when you use the same character on that other server, not if you switch from a public hive to a private server, or from 1pp character to 3pp character (and vice versa). oh, and you get a warning message + waiting time if you get your location reset.
Kean__1 144 Posted November 9, 2019 (edited) What the others said. ....although, in community servers (which I see you also mentioned) it doesn't go by the same rules. You can log out and back in without being relocated. However, your character is locked into that particular server. You have to create new ones on each that will remain there. Another option might be to find a server that has a shortened night cycle. I hated night time on official servers because you really didn't want to give your position away with a proper light source and it was often too risky in towns or areas with zombies. .....so, we would end up camping out in a house or similar until dawn. I wish the moon would illuminate your surroundings as it does in real life. I've been out in desolate areas under a full moon on a number of occasions and you can see a lot. RyanS1994 110 Posted November 9, 2019 NVGs seem to be more common than any AR except the Baby AK, you don't really need a light tbh just slow down during the night time, in my experience people run around like idiots I night time cos they think they're invisible and then you can just prey on the weak lol
etaab 70 Posted November 10, 2019 I love playing at night time ! Nothing better than having the added sense of dread lurking in the darkness that something or someone is watching you. If I have to navigate at night using a light source, I recommend sticking to the train tracks. They will take you on a large circle around Cherno, you just need to figure out where to get off. I've had NV goggles for weeks now, they revolutionise the nights. Now, i prefer night as I can loot anywhere with only a small chance of getting shot at by other players. Anyone who avoids night is only getting about two thirds of what the game is meant to be about and how its played, imo. 1
EzyStriderPS4 191 Posted November 15, 2019 That's what I've been saying from the beginning @etaab. Good man! I used to run around with a compass looking at the iZurvive map on my iPad for tree lines and other landmarks before NVGs. The nights were darker before 1.05 update. I still use the North star to orient myself at times. But yeah, NVGs are legit, and have completely changed the rules. On my last character, I was out West, checked a heli landing spot, and flipped goggles off to preserve battery. I'm running in the middle of a field and gunfire erupts 10m away! Was dead in the water, but almost got away with some zig zags. I wish the toggle for NVG was easier/quicker. You have to stand still and toggle from the wheel, and I couldn't afford to do that!! etaab 70 Posted November 15, 2019 I keep mine on almost until its fully daylight. It's not worth the risk. I shot a guy today with NV goggles, he didn't see me even though he was coming straight towards me. I love ghillie suits.
