Well, if the core issues like the inventory problems, lag that affects driving, weapon/mag glitches and such were addressed, then I'd be the first to give kudos.  I guess we'll have to see how it goes since none of that was covered in the patch notes.

Well, I got my very first car fixed up and went for a spin a couple of days ago. To be honest i drove it several miles before I had an incident, which froze my game up.

I never seem to have the same inventory problems as other people, maybe I've just learnt how to avoid bugs, glitches and little annoyances. I'm actually really pleased with how I am able to handle the strange inventory system.

I just seem to get the poor frame rates, ridiculous LOD skip and the gun mag bug. Nothing major to be honest. I've also noticed that if I manually remove a mag and then manually insert a new one in the inventory it doesn't bug on me at all.

So to be honest, all these game breaking bugs people moan about don't seem to have as much effect on me as I've learnt to avoid them. They're certainly not game breaking.

The more I think about it, when Dayz released on 29th May, what Bohemia call 1.0 or above as the release version wasnt truthful. To me, us digital downloaders who bought the game from the online store have actually been playing the unofficial beta. I think when Dayz goes onto physical discs that you can buy in a bricks and mortar stores that'll be the proper release version and hopefully these bugs will be fixed. This is also supported by Bohemias recent tweet about their commitment to bug fixing going forwards. Because the PS4 doesn't have an early access, they just called it a release copy and sent it out in the wild.

Well, have a couple more of those incidents and you'll likely be doing what many others of us do who keep our speeds usually around 20kph or even less in 1st gear.  .....especially around towns.

I have several video clips showing what some call "lag spikes" where the screen completely freezes.  The problem is, it's just the driver's screen as time continues to pass as normal for the rest of the world and players in it (assuming they are not also experiencing their own spike).  In other words, your car keeps going if you were already in motion and sometimes it will make turns without any input.  All you can do is cross your fingers and hope the car doesn't crash and keep your finger on the brake.

This happens several times a session for me and my friends.  You get used to it but the experience is less than optimal if I'm going to be nice about it.  .....oh, and now I hear we can look forward to being injured in car crashes as well which (if they haven't fixed the lag in this update) will only add insult to injury when we crash due to a spike.  I have to drive one of my vehicles I had to recover from across the map tonight so I guess I'll see if this was improved.

While there are some workarounds that can sometimes help, they don't always work IME and believe me, we've likely tried them all.  ....so yeah, it's not necessarily about learning how to avoid them at least in my case and those I have played with and it's nothing to do with knowing how to navigate the inventory system.  I have no problem with that or the innocuous bugs that are simply irritating at best that are associated with it.  Hell, I have to relog a handful of times a session just to help get mags to reload, food containers to open, combining items to work, etc.

Well, these bugs we "moan about" are nothing major until they result in your death.  That's kinda game breaking wouldn't you say?

.....or how about having to throw out a glitched weapon that you spent hours looking for and/or customizing?

....or how about a gun that simply stops dealing damage in the middle of a firefight?  I had that happen two nights ago and lost my fully kitted secondary character.   Normally, a relog would usually "unstick" what's wrong with the gun but unfortunately, that's not an option when you have a zombie hoard on top of you because your weapons were ineffective.

....or what about a car that you spent days acquiring parts, sourcing fuel and water for (not to mention the jerry cans to carry those fluids) only to lose it due to a lag event?

I'm not even getting into the inventory issues regarding tents and vehicles where items get stuck that players spend hours and days to obtain.

...so yeah, when I say game breaking, I'm not trying to be over-dramatic.  These issues can at their worse cause the player to die and at least create roadblocks in their progression in the game.  .....and in a game that's all about an extreme hardcore, scarce loot, perma-death experience, it's no small matter.  Some of these bugs that may seem relatively inconvenient in some situations can have deadly consequences in others.  What's worse is that these glitches, etc. are really not in the player's control in a game that is all about your actions and the decisions you make.

I'm not trying to sound like an ass but when someone describes concerns as "moaning", whining, etc., it's dismissive and off-putting to be honest.

I don't doubt they knew full well this game wasn't ready for a full release.  However, I was ok with that given that I had followed DayZ for several years and bought into BI's promise of getting their act together.  I saw their recent progress at the time and was satisfied with their efforts and communication.  ....at the time.

However, with the announcement of a physical release and then a paid DLC in just a few weeks time, I find it quite insulting to be honest.  It really makes me question if their priorities are really focused on fixing the game as they have said or simply making as much money as they can.

Having said that, given the relative lack of communication from BI in addressing some of these issues (or if they even were part of the patch), I'll just have to see how it works out after a couple session over the next couple days.  I like some of the new features (less the auto aim) but I'm hoping this isn't just more lipstick on a pig.

I understand all of your issues, i really do. All I'm saying is in my experience they have never affected me as badly as they do you. I wouldn't accuse you of being over dramatic, as I have no idea what's going on from your side of things. But in my experience i've never died from them once. Do you play in a big team of people?

We usually run as a team of no more than 4 people. So I'm not sure if more players on screen equates to more lag and more chance of things glitching. I only ever have to log out and back in if I try to drop items for a friend and they can't see them. A relog usually fixes that bug.

My main issues are the frame rates, LOD skip (which results in world furniture such as grass, trees, houses etc turning green, white or low on resolution) and the odd bug here or there.

I'm just saying in my own experience, not once have I thought anything which has happened to me has been game breaking. The worst recently was I ran into a medical building to find some antibiotics, to find a zombie only visible up to his waist as he was glitched into the floor. Then my SGK5 magically disappeared off my shoulder, I checked the video footage afterwards, it literally went POP! and it was gone out of my inventory. I managed to escape the zombie by shutting him in a room behind a door. I survived and quickly find another SGK5, but I get your point. They're annoying bugs, but I think I'm just more forgiving as I've learnt to live with the majority of them as long as they don't get me killed.

I played this yesterday for about 4 hours, I notice a few things and most of the other things I didnt get to test or even try.

1. From what I've seen the Grey blobbing when zooming in with binoculars or a scope, Seems to Be completely fixed and what I 've gathered is they lowered the (Resolution of Objects such as trees) which I don't mind if the game preforms better.

2. Car lag still exist, and It is a doozy. (But I drive in every gear, unless in a major city)

3. The Blood splatters are inconsistent since the resolution change, Sometimes you get the blood splatter animations from shooting or hitting and other times, You get these red and white boxes, I have videos of this.

4. I had 2 game crashes one joining a server, And one randomly for no reason, The system didnt freeze and didn't take me to the sony report page for the second one. (On a empty server also)

5. I liked that if they did this intentionally ( you cannot take things off the car from the inventory anymore it seems like) It feels like now you need to open the trunk to access the inventory, and to take off parts, you have to interact with each part, Which is really good if they did that intentionally.

6. wringing out the clothes is pretty cool

7. Major cities still have heavy game lag and still have slow down, Especially places like electro and such.

I couldnt test to see if the headlights were working , And I didnt find any of the new guns or the new car,
The bleed now is very dangerous (Good)
Rain is super annoying now as you actually start dying from it. (Good)

Overall from what was going on last patch, I say the game is in a good step in the right direction, If headlights and nvg work at least.

This right here is the truth,

No one would walk into a food establishment or a Furniture establishment or any establishment, Buy something, And it doesnt work or break or have to figure out work arounds every so often to enjoy it and say , everyone else who has any feed back about this product that doesn't side with my belief is "whining" , Some of these bugs have killed me and other bugs have lost me things.

There was one time I was at my base , Just organizing items, my game just crashes and my character just gets deleted.

....and that's fine but what I'm saying is that although some of these issues may not affect you and/or don't affect your gameplay in the same way doesn't automatically invalidate those who feel they do or do run into issue you don't, etc.  When people describe others expressing their concerns about these problems as "moaning", whining, etc., it's dismissive and quite frankly, I find it a little disrespectful to be honest.   That was my point.  Even in the cases where workarounds are possible, they don't always work IME and those I play with.

I have run in teams typically no larger than 4-5, doubles and solo.  I have played on public servers that were full, empty and everywhere in between.  I also play on private servers (including my own) where I was solo, playing coop with a friend and with a handful of players.  I have experienced these issues to some degree or another in all of these scenarios and talked / played with many people who have shared the same or similar experiences in their sessions.  I have also had players tell me of glitches they experienced that I haven't (so far) had the pleasure of seeing myself like the invisible zombie bug.

I've had the glitch where zombies are stuck through the floor / ground about 4 times.  All of those times we were unable to interact with them and they could not attack us.    ....but I also had one time where they suddenly popped back into the gameworld and came after us.  ....I almost died once again to a glitch in that case when it happened.

Again, "living with it" doesn't help in all cases my friend.  I live with a lot of bugs in this game but some of these glitches are unavoidable and do cause player deaths regardless of what people do.  I have also experienced game freezes not just in vehicles where all action would stop (on my screen) but I could still hear the zombie I was ready to shoot start attacking me.  By the time I was back, I was already rendered unconscious and died quickly after.  ....so yeah, glad you're ok with the glitches you've experienced and happy that you haven't died from any of them but to be quite frank, that is of little consolation to those of us that have.   It's not like this is a case of "you're doing it wrong".

I had that issue twice so far.  Once was right in the middle of gameplay when we were in a house sorting through our gear (no threats nearby).  I simply glitched (crashed).  When I logged back in I could see my old character in the lobby screen but I was placed at the game with a fresh new one on the shoreline.

The 2nd time I had to relog as I do several times a session and when I came back, I was a new a character at the shore once again.  In that case, I do recall that when I logged off my character didn't do the sitting animation as normal.  I think I was squatting at the time. The countdown and everything else proceeded as normal but my character was killed off.  In fact, my friend (in chat) told me he could see all my stuff.  .....unfortunately, he was not able to access most of it as usual.

Wait what, are you serious? The mentioned bugs are indeed game breaking and in the case of pvp they are deadly most of the time. Are you one of those guys hiding with their friends on a password protected low pop server and never encounterd any serious pvp?

I've talked to many people in DayZ and all of them described those bugs as game breaking and those bugs are "always" happening in "every session" on high pop servers!!!

Nope. Sorry. Half of what people have mentioned here are something I've never experienced. I've barely played more than 2 hours on private servers as I found them boring. A friend rented a server for PVE only and base building. It was too easy, I found every gun in the game almost straight away at NWAF. It was dull.

So no, I actively target higher population public servers so I can have the zombie and player interactions.

I rarely have to relog, I never die from the bugs people are mentioning and would not call them game breaking at all. In fact I love my time in Dayz, its usually fairly stable for me. Sorry guys but instead of turning to abuse, try understanding others opinions first before making accusations.

Btw I can usually be found in EU DE4445 or EU DE4442 servers, usually pretty popular servers. Come try those servers, maybe you won't get the same bugs?

The thing is, these bugs occur for people on high pop, low pop, public and private servers, solo, with teams of varying sizes, etc. I started out on the former myself and these problems followed me throughout.

This attitude some people have that it doesn't occur for them so "let me downplay everyone else's problems or pretend they don't exist" is ridiculous.  Time to use the ignore feature on this forum I guess.

I started playing in private servers to see if the issues would stop when they were made available. Again, I joined high pop servers, low pop and even exclusive ones locked with a password. .....no difference.

I then rented my own for those times I wanted to play with just a few friends as a PvE experience.  Again, no difference although you would think without the added load, some of the problem would clear up.

I still maintain a character on the public servers as well as PvP private ones.  ....still have the same problems with them all.

Who exactly has done this ? You've already said this in a previous reply but I haven't seen anyone saying those problems don't exist. You're starting to make comments like a child throwing their toys out of their pram because people don't always agree. If they don't have the same issues, that's not their fault is it?
