Are you trying to kill dayz or what?

I don't think I need to mention how annoying it is to spend hours getting from one end of the map to the other to get all your kit just be killed by a glitchy car and have to do it all over again.

I love dayz, but once things like this have happened enough you start to get fed up. Which is why I stopped playing for ages. I finally started playing again a while ago. I went all out looking high and low for the kit I wanted. Couldn't find any ARs though. NONE on ANY SERVER. just rifles and every now and then an smg. Regardless I got myself together a half decent loadout, just for an update that comes with a complete wipe to be announced. Ofcourse I stopped playing until the update was released, which I'm pretty sure was late. So I give up.

However, I decided to play your pointless game again last night. Of course I spawned in with a fresh character. Spent my gaming hours last night making my way up to the middle airfield I died once, but made it with my second character. Although I had no food or water by the time I got there (remember that). I did a quick sweep of the barracks at the top then logged off for the night, ready to come back on this afternoon, do a full sweep of the base then head up to the next one.

I log on today, got a 75 second spawn in timer and a message warning me that because of a server change, my position might change, which of course, it did.

Spawned in a field with no food or water, no doubt miles away from the base. I found a house not to far a way with a can of peaches in it. Luckily cuz I was about to start dehydrating. Not sure if that will be enough to get me to a town or not though.

So my question is should I keep playing? This switching position thing is a blessing and a curse. It fixes some of the main issues like duplicating and spawning in people's base. But when you start punishing the legitimate players, is your game even worth playing anymore? Who knows how long it'll be before you wipe the servers again, that alone makes the game pretty pointless.

It's a shame cuz I like this game but I really don't know if I want to play it again. I'm sat in that house where I found the peaches, debating whether or not to log back on and continue.

If you change server it changes your location. Best to make a note of the server. Or favorite it.

Sure, that would be how I proceed with the game if I choose to continue. I don't know if I want to though. Between this and server wipes, not to mention all the other annoying stuff like a car that ruins after one hit from a zombie, guns that stop working, or wolves that won't die when you unload your shotgun right in their face. I can make peace with the position switch. But ontop of everything else? I'm not so sure.

If your car ruined after one hit from a zombie then this is the 1st reporter case. I've run over hundreds of zombies and my car is running just fine, minus the occasional lag

I haven't had any of that happen to me yet to be fair. Except the server wipes, but I think there have only been two or three since game release? I get the frustration with bugs. Bugs in any game is frustrating. But for me, the enjoyment of playing outweighs the current issues which don't drastically interfere with my game play. If I'm ever at that point with a game I put it down till they fix it. I have done this with BF, Ark, subnautica, minecraft, etc. They are all games I keep going back to though. As is DayZ.

You make a good point about the bugs and I agree. The enjoyment does out weight the frustration of the bugs, but on top of wipes and this relocation thing, which is actually a good idea, just caught me off guard, it gets hard to keep wanting to play. But I did.

I've made it back to the base. Just had to run north pretty much. Still annoying but I can see it's benefits. So good job.

EDIT: It's not so much server wipes but character wipes. I really hope that doesn't have to happen again.

Being "kitted" is not, and should not be your #1 priority (of course, you play how you want).  My priorities are FOOD, WATER, WEAPON, CLOTHING, SHELTER.  As for the rest, all that will come in time.  I don't know WHY, in the name of God, everyone.....EVERYONE......thinks that getting all decked out will make you a better player.  Once, I killed a "kitted" player with nothing more than my  shotgun, and all I had was a baseball cap, hoodie, hiking pants,  trail shoes, and a backpack with a little ladybug on it.  THEN, I took HIS shit.  Pretty easy.  On the server I'm on now, I have a base set up, with one mil tent, one crate, and one sea chest.  I have a stash with a suppressed SG-5K, 3 mags, and a Mosin.  My "kit" consists of a scoped SKS, a scoped Tundra, field backpack, and a matching set of combat jacket and pants.  That is really all you need, but hey............to each his own.  If you just take what you can get WHEN you get it, it's AMAZING how fun the game actually is.

You might have just had a lemon.  I have had cars that smoked from the start and only went a half mile before dying, or get one that drinks gas.

Has never happened to me.

You have a desyncing issue, but again, that has never happened to me as far as guns go.  I have been desynced trying to melee a zombie though.  That's just the way it goes.  It comes with the territory.

Just happened to me with FX45, mag in, 9 bullets in, can't fire with it, can't reload (not jammed), can't switch mag, disconnect/reconnect and server restart, same issue.

You sure the gun isn't ruined?

I'm sure yes.

EDIT: found a CR527 (i already have one) with a magazine on it, wanted to pick it up, not possible, same bug as FX45 (that i dropped since i found another working).
