Just another FPS battle-royal game, except no one wins?

Now the game has been 'released', the direction has been set, this is not the survival game I had hoped for.  The only thing that will kill you in this game is other players.  Food & water is plentiful and easy to obtain.  Weapons are everywhere, surviving in the remote areas is so easy there is no challenge.  Infected are also no challenge.  It's such a shame, the only danger is other players, its just a death-match on a massive beautiful world.  Problem is a lot of us have been in Chernarus for years... in fact 10 years.

I wish players were just one of many varied threats and then maybe the there would be more to do than playing deathmatch.

You make some good points, but apparently BI was going to add more survival elements in 1.02 or 1.03, aswell as potential changes to the loot economy food, regardless they didn't but thats one of their goals for future updates (enhanced survival features) as far as i know, and from how they were talking about it, it seems to be their priority when it comes to features. However that might not be the case anymore as they've delayed it for whatever reason. Regardless i dont think that part of the game will be ignored.

In the 3 weeks ive had Dayz ive died approx. 9 times.

3 of those were other players (1 failed roleplay moment, 2 KOS)

3 Zombie attacked where I was overwhelmed

3 form starvation.

That’s a fairly even split for me. I guess the more you play the better you get but for the casual player like me, threats are everywhere. Im a paranoid wreck when out on my own

That's what you get when you play official vanilla servers. Community servers have modifications and config changes that changes up the whole game.

I have not died in a long time. 

But thats only because i refuse to play without the old crafting posibilities.

I needs me bow

Exactly. Vanilla is really, really boring. DZSA has been a revelation for me.

I just want them to add barricading , advanced soft skills , aerial vehicles , bikes / 2 wheeled vehicles , zombie hordes ,drugs like weed alcohol and cigarettes , bears , advanced medical system , did I miss anything ? Wow we still have a looooooooooong way to go ... I guess hooray for the ps4 version though ? Yuck 🤢

survival was lost and now we have to go through another 1.5 years of them “bug fixing and configuring features”  to be done with that BS and then finally maybe they will consider finishing the list of features that was on every single roadmap before “full 1.0 release” (if you can even call it that).

You're playing on the wrong servers. I have infected modded on my servers (without client crashes) and people die to infected every single day. So it's not too hard I've made a mod to slow infected down to the reasonable portion so players can still escape the horde with 30%-40% stamina. Mistakes still get made.
