Survivor1431 116 Posted January 17, 2019 (edited) Greetings survivors, Many base-builders in DayZ are complaining about their bases being broken into, or being too hard to make, or disappearing when they reconnect. So here I am to provide you with 3 essential tips that will make your base-building experience one that is both a rewarding and immensely pleasurable endeavor that you may regularly participate in. 1) Choose Smart Locations - A lot of players attempt to do this, but fall into the trap of building their base the first place a sneaky bandit would think of. They choose the outskirts of the map in a dense forest thinking, "No one will ever find my base here!". Well guess what the bandit is thinking? He is thinking, "I wonder where my victim would place his base in order to keep it hidden? Hmmm...why don't I check the outskirts of the map in the dense forest?!" And just like that he finds your base and breaks in and you come back to have your hopes and dreams shattered. We have to think two steps ahead of the bandit. I recommend putting your base directly in the center of the North West Airfield in plain open view. Now you may be thinking, "But it's too visible and that area is so popular that my base will get broken into!" Sorry, but that is not how their minds work. When people go to the North West Airfield, they go there looking for players and guns, not bases. This means that they will be completely oblivious to the base standing right in front of them, since they are so obsessively focused on locating a green bandit with a juicy M4. 5 months later when you rejoin the server you will find your trusty base right where you built it. If you don't believe me, then try it out, and believe science instead. 2) Just Accept That Bases Are Extremely Difficult To Make - This is a survival game after all. If it were easy, bases would be worth nothing, and you would find Hogwarts castles every 50 meters in your travels. You will appreciate your beautiful base so much more if it took you 400 game hours to build, as opposed to a measly 4 minutes. In the apocalypse, everything is hard, and making a base is no exception. Consider yourself lucky if you don't die of thirst trying to finish the roof on your tiny little wooden hut. 3) Contact The Server Owner And Make Sure He Is Backing Up Persistence - It is your responsibility! The developers have given us some very clear instructions to get fully functional persistence in DayZ. That means that the core game loop is already in place and able to work as promised for 1.0 full release. Good server owners will backup to protect persistence. Good survivors of DayZ will personally take the time out of their busy day to message the server owner and wait patiently for a delayed response to ensure that they are playing on a server with functional persistence. If you do this, you will choose the right servers, and never come back to see your base missing again. Problem solved. There you have it ladies and gentlemen, 3 essential tips that will get you started on your way to being a master base-builder. I wish you the best of luck.We keep on surviving!
