Sudden death sickness meter

Last night my guys sickness meter suddenly hit a sudden downarrow. 

 

Soon enough I went unconscious. Came around but then died a bit later.

 

I have no idea what brought this on and want to avoid it in future. I didn't eat any raw food or anything. I may have drank out of a river maybe 15 mins before but so did my mate and he didn't die.

You ate people meat didn't you, you bad man?

I eat worms, raw chicken, drink dirty water! After the last hot fix it doesn't seem to affect you, prior to that I got the germ some how, constant coughing and sneezing, nothing got rid.

You dont die from human meat you just get kuru. Its where your character makes crazy sounds every 5 seconds. Theres no way to cure it (i guess death would) but its only an annoyance and gives you away to other people because you can hear it from like 100m away.
