How do you repair it? Does it have to be pristine for the bus to drive?

Prestine helps not driving off the road or doing complete circles if you wish to get anywhere with it.

Tires all are repaired with a tire repair kit, it will take it to worn only. The same applies to all repair kits taking it to worn only. You can never get to pristine with any repair kits.

Hope that helps with the repair system in place.

 

Try to aim for storing 1 or more repair kits, enough tools, and 1 extra tire and maybe some gas. The server desync may reset you back and ruin your bus, so be careful.

I believe it has to be split with a crowbar before repaired. Did I read that somewhere or dream it up?

Last time I checked double wheels could not be repaired, only single wheels.
