Ghoty 0 Posted July 15, 2016 Everytime i change my refresh rate to 60hz and launch the game, it changes back to 144hz. Is there any startup parameter to lock the refresh rate to 60?
JBURNS489 165 Posted July 15, 2016 (edited) I dont know why you would want a lower refresh rate but the easiest way would to be change your refresh rate through your control panel. I also use a 144hz monitor and i never miss 60hz at all. Even at 45-60fps, i can tell a difference between 60hz and 144hz. The higher refresh rate is always smoother looking Edited July 15, 2016 by JBURNS489

SFRGaming 718 Posted July 15, 2016 (edited) +1 on not lowering your refresh rate. I digress... vsync doesn't lock your refresh rate. just locks your fps to your current set refresh rate. so stop use NVidia control panel (or AMD's equivalent software if you run amd) and manually set your refresh rate through that. serelaw 17 Posted July 16, 2016 Ok I tried to use Nvidia control panel to enable vsync. In global and program specific settings. And enabled in game. None worked. Still huge fps in dayz. I apologize for giving advice that I did not try first. It seems nothing works yet. Next time I will try the advice first then post.. :)
Brokenbones 62 Posted July 16, 2016 You are not entirely wrong but that depends on both GPU and CPU as well as monitor refresh. I am running a 120mhz monitor, a cpu at 4.2 and a gtx 1070. In certain circumstances, with vsync off I will exceed the the 120 fps, while vsync is on, never. @ OP, keep you screen at 144 and turn off vsync in game and select the 144hz in Nvidia or AMD CP. Also do not use a HDMI connection, prefer DVI or DP, HDMI will limit your screen to 60hz.
