Setting People on Fire

I have been on this forum for years now and posted allot of good/bad idea, some even got implented.

 

However,

 

Can I please put players on fire with gasoline

I know this sounds very fucked up

but so did Cannabalism

 

Yes ill show myself out in shame now

 

(pour on player, put match in hand, sets player on fire, after 20 seconds they die, with screaming ofcourse)

Personally, I would like to see fire being more useful in DayZ. I'd love to be able to burn tents down, set vehicles on fire, and burn the contents of barrels with maybe a match and some fuel. It's not as satisfying to have a scorched earth policy when you run across camps, when you can't you know, scorch stuff.

no it is not a good idea
DayZ is not a game about torturing people. Look somewhere else on the internet for screwed up adult pervert horror games if those get you hot.
Or instead, just break a players legs with a pair of pliers or a chainsaw and use your imagination to pretend you're having sick fun. Hit the dude in the face with a screwdriver, put a bag on his head shoot him in the kneecaps. Isn't that already horrible enough for you. Or don't you have any sense of reality at all?

No offense, this is my opinion. Hey, but you get the prize for the most totally screwed up stupid idea of the month.
That's a plus.

Looking at it from a reality standpoint, when the world goes to hell there are people who are going to get really depraved when it comes to their idea of surviving and also because there won't be any consequences holding them back including setting people on fire. Also, the things people will become willing to do just to "survive" might be beyond comprehension since we're not at a point in time where they will show their true nature.

But if we are going to go with the "reality" standpoint, you have to acknowledge other aspects of human nature. 

1) It's tough for people to kill each other. That might seem like bullshit, but every organized fighting force on the planet would agree. It takes a ton of training to get people to shoot other human shaped objects and even then healthy human beings will often hesitate. And that's for something as impersonal as using a gun. Seems like setting another human being on fire would be even more prone to "maybe we shouldn't do this" feelings. Which is a nice segue into my next point....

2) What percentage of the population would be fucked up enough to do this kind of stuff AND actually have survived long enough to still be alive? Contrary to what zombie movies might tell you, it's actually WAY harder to survive as a demented psychopath. People grouping up is the reason why our bones aren't being gnawed on by lions right this very second. The second people realize that you are a threat to the group, individual reasoning goes out the fucking window and your ass is dead as fuck.

So in summation, this topic, sadly, breaches the point where reality matters in any conceivable way. The only relevant point to be made is should this shit be in this game? I think not. But it's not up to any of us.

I agree that setting people on fire shouldn't be in this game and even though this is a different topic what about setting corpses on fire?

That would, in my opinion, only be a worthwhile endeavor for the devs to invest time and resources into if they also planned to make corpses (both from healthy humans and from infected) contribute to the spread of disease. If it doesn't do anything for the player, then what's the point, right?
