Generally they auto-detect i think, otherwise maybe use 'media' button or something?

Might have something to do with the link code too, sometimes it may be embed code or otherwise direct link?

 

Usually just pops up for me after quoting the link.

Click on the third icon from the left at the top of your reply input box.   Select media from your drop-down. Copy and paste address from BROWSER BAR, between media brackets.
