Does the standalone version of Dayz mean I dont need ARMA 2?

Recommended Posts

Do I need ARMA 2 before being able to play Dayz or does the standalone version mean thats all I need to get up and running

No arma needed - hence "Standalone"

And people thought Standalone would be self-explanatory.

There are Dayz mod versions that require arma 2 or 3 to run (depends on the version). However, DAYZ SA - this is the standalone and the game that goes far beyond what the mods offer. It is still in development though, so you have to wait for certain features (e.g. helicopters) to be implemented. I played the mods for years and I really prefer the standalone.

If I buy the standalone would I have to pay additional costs for updates and when the game is fully developed?
