Gas Stove?

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys I have been gone a while.

Can you cook with the gas stove yet? Or are we still better off building a fire? Would be kind of handy if it works

I remember a year ago it would burn food and really had no use.

Yes use cooking pot and you can cook things , I think lard has some actually use to boiling it but I dunno I just put that stuff on a stick and cook her up ...

I can't wait for more fleshed out cooking mechanisms ! Imagine making bread or something , maybe even wine ? Who knows what the possibilities could be but I'm ready for some sophisticated cooking !

I'm not sure if this is in the code yet, But this is my take on cooking so far ( fyi its the only way I'll eat in Days ) Cooking and harvesting/farming

Cooking on a stick = Smoked or dried out meat / plants , Which reduces hydration value but increases duration of time before it would spoil . Gives a darker dryer look ( works on all fires, fireplaces )

Cooked in Pot = Boiled , increases hydration value . gives a glossed brown effect on meat. Can not cook fish this way.

( only works on fireplace, cooking tripod, gas stove and burn barrel )

Frying pan = Can cook all meat and fish , requires Lard

(Only works on fireplaces ,burn barrels, gas stove )

You can eat cooked Lard.

Lard never over cooks

----------------------

All meats can double as heat packs on cold nights.

Guts can be reheated , and re used as heat packs on cold nights, Status of guts does not matter for this effect.

Guts can be converted to rope ( glitch) by adding and removing to long stick to craft fishing road or bow several times .

Only wild Boar leather can be converted into a improvised backpack without being tanned. ( gives no extra slots over the burlap version)

Thanks, I'm glad to hear it is working better now. I remember when all the stove would do was burn food. Times have changed and that is good. I remember having to carry around a fire place kit and having to use it every hour just to stay warm, I think that was .47......don't remember. It was a interesting patch at 1st but over time it was kind of a became a pain in the ass, to have to either lug around logs and a fire place kit or hope someone else had one.

I think as long as it works its better for me to have one for boiling water and cooking meat. Just gotta have a pot, stove and canister. I'm looking forward to picking up one next time play, it will be a good add to the kit.

I love cold winter servers.

Just fits the game better in my opinion

My current testing involves figuring out if boiling water also purifies it .

Hopefully it does, or will someday soon.

Would also be nice if the broth after cooking meat would add more then just hydration when you drink , like soda does now

Let me know what you find out in your test.

I think it was the .47 patch, when the brought in temp effects. The cold effects temp effects were pretty over the top. So you had to lite fires almost hourly during play. It def made things more interesting, more focus on survival. I think now it October in game, so cooler. I would love to see....cold weather like snow and ice.....we will see.

The gas stove is pretty cool seeing that it works now. Def a must have in the kit now days from the sounds of it, at least for me.
