What is the best weapons for a sniper operator

Recommended Posts

I'd take a Blaze / HScope over an SVD any day of the week.

So you feel the blaze is much better then the SVD? I have the hunters scope and been saving up to find a good rifle.

I hated the Mosin +pu, i enjoyed the M4, AK but 400-700 is ok on the m4. I would like to see the 700m range again.

What about the sportier, i know its a .22 but seems to do a nice job in a distance doesn't it?

Blaze 2 shot then reload, might be decent in the distance. The only people that can fly to get to you are cheaters. So by that time you have reloaded and or moved on.

What about the Winchester? is it a decent weapon compared to the blaze. I think we have a few others don't we.

The main reason I like the Blaze (asides from all the other reasons : P), is the fact that you don't have to adjust that much in order to take the second shot. With a bolt action, you have to work the bolt, which on the Winchester is a ludicrously long animation.

Yeah as above. the Winchester is a great weapon but harder to line up a rapid second shot. Couple this with the option to double fire the blaze at short to mid range and it's a no brainer for me. I also find the Winchester is one of the most easily recognized sounds at any range, people call it the Elephant Gun based on the hefty report. When i headshot someone with a blaze, less people will instantly recognize the sound as "Sniper" when compared to the Winny or the SVD. The second anyone hears a Winny all eyes are on the hills / tall buildings / anywhere a sniper might sit. Blaze is loud but it's a less recognizable crack from range that is more easily confused with other weapon types which helps my situation.

I've made headshots at near 1000m with a Blaze, and while this is reportedly possible with the SVD (even longer i'm told) the gimped scope that fits on an SVD means at anything over 650m is 1. a dot, even through the scope and 2. too far away to tell where the bullet landed in the event that you miss the first shot.

This isn't an attack on the SVD, some people use it extremely well so I've heard but for me the lack of meaningful magnification makes it gimped in a sniping role at respectable range.

#1 Your brain. Actually thinking ahead will save your bacon 99% of the time, above any "loadout" you could choose. Think about where you are, where the enemy is likely to go, and any and all available cover between here, there, and especially behind you. Nothing quite like sneaking up on a scoped-in bushwookie to make you feel good about yourself.

2) STICK AND MOVE. So many "snipers" I see like to lay in the same spot, shooting at the same spots. The Blaze is good for avoiding this; with its 2rnd capacity, you have to be good about changing positions. Take a shot, wait a minute, move back into cover, then move to the next posting.

3) Guns

Now, of course, the "best" weapon is the one you are most comfortable with. Me? I hate  the WInchester. I love me some Blaze. Good iron sights (that glow in the dark!), flat shooting out to 300 meters (Being able to mount a scope is just gravy), ability to "shotgun" if the enemy gets too close, and a single box of ammo will last you for 10 reloads. Some people think that is a bad thing, I just reply " SKIRMISH, MOTHERFUCKER!". With the Blaze, you have to be able to bounce from cover to cover. Reloading takes only a second (do the snaploaders even exist anymore?), but you still want to swivel your head around like a tweaker. Push forward, pop a shot, fall back, pop a shot, push forward, take a shot, lather rinse repeat. If you are not careful, and stop skirmishing, you will be out-shot, even by a 5rnd bolt-action.

For secondaries, I usually carry two: a sawed-off shotgun with plenty of shells, and a revolver with plenty of shells and preferably 2 speedloaders. Both give you plenty of punch for the space (revolver in a holster + ammo and loaders= 3 slots, shotgun + ammo = 5 slots). Yeah, an automatic pistol has a higher capacity, but you have skill and derring-do on your side. I've out-shot AR-weilding kiddies with a revolver before (quite easily, if I may say so myself)

Good post tbh, I also like shotguns as secondaries, especially that one with the grip thingy, I don't really like the idea of having to aim perfectly good when I'm panicked so shotgun or something that shoots too many bullets in a very short time span are the ideal secondary for me.
