Writing seems weird :(

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

I have a new computer and some of the writing looks weird like this:

post-232022-0-45287200-1446129054_thumb.

Here are my specs:

  • Windows
  • Intel® Core™ i7-4790 Processor
  • Memory: 12 GB
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745
  • Hard drive: 2 TB SSHD

I am also using a full hd tv for a screen and a hauppage hd pvr 2 for recording

Thanks

Mad

Ok I went back and checked and it is definitely NOT the PVR it is a computer issue,

Hope this makes it clearer

IMO try setting the resolution of your graphics card to the same as the natural resolution of the screen

- for your screen's natural resolution" you have to check the manual that came with it, or check that make/type on the web - you find for instance   1920x1080   (or whatever)

- then to set your graphics in windows resolution, I guess you know how to do that - for instance in windows 7 do it in -  Control Panel / Display / screen resolution

while you're there, check that you haven't set your refresh frequency to something your screen can't deal with.

Doing that stuff should work the same for a PC screen or for a modern TVset screen. If you use a TV, read the manual see what it says about PCs. Follow their advice.

If you think it's a problem with your TV (maybe its a not-very-hot TV?), try connecting a PC screen to your PC and check that it is ok. Borrow one for an hour.

I'd be surprised if it is a fault in the PC.

I haven't tried plugging a PC in to a TV recently. I don't use TV for anything anymore. So I'd blame the TV.

Myself, I've never seen anyone who had a very good image for reading computer TEXT on their TV. The few I've seen always looked fairly lousy.

- But a good modern HD TV is 'supposed' to be same-tech same-standard as PC screens

..er..

right people ?

Thanks for the reply pilgrim. I will try what you say. Is it not strange though that it is only coloured writing?

Oh comeone dude, why are you using Internet Explorer?!

Lol I don't use it for the web, it's just for gaming, I literally have nothing on it but games. I use chrome on my laptop, it's what I do everything else on.

set the tv image settings back to "factory settings"

make syre the PC graphics card settings and windows Desktop are all standard too, in case you altered color, alpha or something else.

it's hard to see much from your screenshots, but normally its wont be a PC problem, just a settings prob or maybe a nogood TV.

Have some beans my kind sir, you were right it was my tv I turned it down to 1080i and it was sorted, only issue was when I launched DayZ it went back to 1080p so I still have it when I play, I tried to adjust my UI and now I can't see anything to set it back lol, guess I will have to uninstall and reinstall? I guess I will just have to keep going until I but a monitor :(

Is it odd that I don't see anything wrong with any of those pictures?

Looks exactly like what my DayZ Forums looks like.
