As far as I was aware no one was around, but it was a pretty full (private) server so I can't be sure even if I was pretty deep in the North West of the map. I think it was Novava Petrovka. It seems to be unlikely someone sneaked up on me but I guess not impossible. However, the short time frame and absence of sound makes it unlikely in my opinion, I observed the area before I entered and just before I enter the building I see no other players. I don't think it is possible I was sniped from the street through the window. Could it have been a bug somehow? I never died in this fashion before. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I guess I will never know if it was a kill or a bug...I have been in these houses in that position hundreds of times, never died this way. I even logged out in these rooms, never died. Chancer 5 Posted September 10, 2015 Exact same thing happened to me in Krasnostav, screen just went black in the top floor of the same house you was in.I assumed it was a bug, I managed to get a Svet spawn straight away and ran all the way back to the house and was there within 20 minutes, no sign of my body and the door was still shut at the front from where I went in the first place. Most times I would get back to my body my pants were ruined and shoes as well. I found that table in the corner that you were next to and I believe one of the windows as well would kill me. (d-sync). I used to just avoid those building during that patch, but If I did have to go into that room for certain loot, I would just stand in the door way or maybe a couple feet in. (usually try to valt before I would go in that room) ps in case any one did not know, VAULTING updates your position on the map, so if you can't pick up loot, vault around it, if your being beat up by an invisible zombie, vault.... =) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Just today I saw two people on a U.S. server in the middle of the day when it was quiet and only 10-15 people on at a time. One was in a little out of the way place with 4 houses and a couple sheds that I figured no one would be at. I still check though and sure enough when I cautiously approached there was another player zipping from house to house looting at mach 4. I watched him till he left and went the opposite way as I still had no real weapon at all. About a month ago I shot a guy through a house window standing much like you were from another house. I had seen him coming and holed up but kept a watch out. It was a 1st person server so I had to keep peeking around. You were on a 3rd person server so the likely hood of someone keeping an eye on you without you seeing them skyrockets. I was able to shoot my guy unawares on a first person server so it doesn't seem far fetched that someone did something similar to you on a 3rd where they can easily hide until you are looking away. Then again most of the time you were staring at the floor not looking around or out windows so they could have been standing in full sight and shot you. theSpike 1 Posted September 10, 2015 If it was a private shard and you are friendly with the admin, you could ask him to have a look at the log file of that day.In case it was death by player, you will have an entry, anything else will show up as if you killed yourself. It's almost certainly a bug, that particular spot next to the table in that house is notorious for desync killing you. BeaverProductions 441 Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) I would go with bug too. Ive died like that in those houses and red-top (3 floor) barns many times. Once when I died in Berezino, I was crouched in a corner of one of those rooms for about 10 mins waiting on a friend arriving (I never moved an inch). Then suddenly the same blackness and "You Are Dead" appeared out of nowhere. I got back to my body and it was outside the house on the ground like I had passed through the wall. I have had several occasions where you hear the crunching of bones and your character yelp in pain before the "You are dead" appears, but sometimes death comes to us all through dsync gods, quietly. Yeah the vaulting was mentioned before and I try to remember it every time now but it's not 100% in my system yet. The reason I may not have experienced this kind of death before is maybe because I usually play on moderate busy servers, the one I was playing on when it happened was quite full, 50 players or so. On this server I also experience after a while of playing that doors look shut but I get a "close door" icon, so I have to open them twice to get the animation going.
