True, a friend wanted a fast trip to the coast and asked me to test the durability of his helmet.  It's on youtube somewhere.  Only one shot from a CR75, on the top of the helmet, and he was on his way to the beach.  It was a ballistic helmet we tested, but the gorka helmet is just as ineffective, and has the please shoot here bump on top.

Realistically, it shouldn't protect against anything more than .22, .380, or low doses of 9mm

 

And the face mask itself isn't meant to stop bullets.
