SVD Spawn loaction. Just heli's?

Hey guys, very simple question today.

 

Iv been playing on private hives lately to avoid servers hopping etc, and Im looking for an SVD to try out. Now I know they spawn at Russian Heli site's, however iv heard a rumor that they also spawn at abandoned tanks around the map.

 

Can anyone confirm this rumor?

Yea Iv found the mags and bullets at many mill locations, but Iv only found the weapon at a Russian Heli.

I know what you mean - have seen one or two postings from people saying they found them elsewhere. But I've never seen one anywhere other than Russian crash sites (and I've done a lot of SVD hunting).

 

The mags spawn at tanks/armoured cars, and at guardhouse porches and in one or two other military buildings.

SVD normal spawn will be at a chopper crash, no exceptions. Anyone who says they found an SVD elsewhere is A: Finding someone elses SVD or B: a lier. Now you can find the mags pretty much anywhere and the ammo is fairly common so...

I'm not so sure about that. The mags are not as common as (eg) AKM ones, while the ammo is definitely not as common as .308. This is why lots of people prefer the Winchester in practice.

Yea I thought it was too good to be true, although you never know until you ask.

Winchester ammo is alot more common true, but Iv still found tonnes of MMr ammo and mags lying around whilst i was looking for the SVD.

A very special person from the forums said that he found not one but two at a non-heli spawn. But it was a private hive.

Just another Question, when was the last time anybody found an SVD. I have been searching the Hive i play on for over a week. Im always ready to loot the static crashes on resart and can confidently say Iv looted 50 or more sites. My last SVD find was a little over a week ago, since then nothing.

 

Perhaps they stopped spawning?

The SVD hasn't stopped spawning. It's just a really rare gun especially on a private hive.
