Flashlights - blinding effect

Recommended Posts

I usually play alone so I can't test this, and because hardly anyone uses flashlights in the game I don't know.

Do flashlights (or weapon lights) blind you in the game?

If not they should.

Modern flashlights (especially the tactical version among which are the weapon lights) have a strobe setting, designed to blind and confuse people and animals.

Is this a feature we should have in the game?

that would be a cool visual effect if it did. though there aren't enough servers that i've encountered that actually have night time most folks seem to not be very fond of it.

Im saying no to strobe light for sure, but not from gameplay.

Im saying this because of the epileptic's out there, which this could cause extreme problems for. Im ok with a regular flashlight though :)

That would actually be quite realistic :)

But good point, never thought of the epileptic aspect.

I hope I dont sound like an ass but I like this idea, you cant tailor games to fit everyones "uniqueness" - im colorblind wheres my consideration? I dont want any please dont tailor games for peoples issues, life is about dealing as best you can not having your hand held - if your epilepsy is triggered by light effects go ahead and roll the dice or dont utilize software that is likely to have such things? I dont know

Game kind of needs an actual night time that gets dark to make flashlights even worth using.

Yeah, I admit to using the gamma cheat but if they want darkness they should make it dark for everyone.

When the game was first released it actually got dark and you had to use your flashlight or, like you said, did the gamma cheat.
