Question regarding vehicle persistence/respawning

On the private hive server I play on vehicle persistence recently was reactivated.

 

My question is regarding how the respawning of V3S's works.

 

If I destroy a V3S (completely, not just broken down) will it respawn at it's proper spawn location upon restart or will it respawn at the same place it was destroyed?

 

All my instincts tell me the former but It was indicated to me that this is not the case.

From my experience, it'll just respawn completely brand new exactly where it was destroyed and left at. It even gets a whole new tank of gas. Kinda irritating, but hey, it'll get worked out sooner or later.

Thanks, but are you absolutely sure that the V3S was completely wrecked? From what I remember these V3S's can absorb a shit ton of damage onto all their parts before they are totally ruined.

This was awhile back but trucks were persistent junior an I found a truck, we drove right in to nwaf, found another in front of the hangars, he got out an drove the second. We got around behind the tent city there and found a third, so we decided to blow up the first one because the 2 new ones had been reset and were full of fuel. We started a fire beside the truck and put a spray paint can in and stepped back to a safe distance. When they're destroyed all the wheels and glass is gone, the hood too I believe and it'll have a rusty charred texture on the model. It' completely despawned within a minute or two, I'm assuming to respawn back at a spawn point. We didn't stick around for a reset though. 

 

We've rolled them, blew all the tires and gas tanks and come back right after a reset to recover them but I'm pretty sure if they're "destroyed" they despawn and go back into the respawn pool.

I'm not too sure, but I know that they were at least beat to hell.

Correct. Every time that I start to think about how they could improve the V3S spawns and system, I remember that with the new vehicle system (i.e. repairing vehicles) there won't be any "truck spawn", rather truck parts spawns. It seems like these features will be in the soon upcoming 0.58 exp (early this week according to hicks).

 

Hopefully vehicle inventories will come soon after.
