kichilron 8550 Posted June 7, 2015 32 BIT SYSTEM It's time to upgrade to an architecture that isn't from 1950. 32 Bit isn't support, only 64 bit.
Thumper1999 48 Posted June 7, 2015 I notice my FPS drop in a city.
ColdAtrophy 1850 Posted June 8, 2015 32 Bit isn't support, only 64 bit. I have an i5-4690k, so this doesn't really affect me, but I'm curious. If this is true then why is DayZ currently running a 32-bit client?
evil11 7 Posted June 8, 2015 It's time to upgrade to an architecture that isn't from 1950. 32 Bit isn't support, only 64 bit.Right, cuz 64 bit system will give you good performance. Of cource.I have 64 bit W8.1, AMD FX8350, 8Gb RAM, GTX750Ti. Outside of cities I have 40-50 fps, in Cherno or Elektro 15-20 and during fight same framerate. If you will take a look at official system requirements, Win7 Sp1 is a minimal requirement for the OS, bughemia doesnt require players to have 64bit systems.By the way dayz engine utilizes only one core even if you have 8 cores processor. There is no such thing in dayz like optimization.

Having 8 gig of ram and then using an OS that only lets you use 4 isn't a smart move either way. Your main issue is the AMD not the operating system like OP (not knockin AMD they really seem on paper to be a superior chip) but real world facts are that AMD single core performance isn't the best and as you said that is what DayZ is mainly relying on atm until things progress further and are optimized. All what i wanted to say, DayZ is not optimised properly, I will not switch to intel anytime soon, DayZ is not worth investing so much money.Of cource 32bit system limits you, but DayZ requires at least 2 gigs of ram and 32bit system but today even on minimal settings you will not see acceptable framerate. I am pretty sure devs are aware of performance issues and they will hopefully provide better experience in future. Aaaaand i enjoy poking them on this forum for their "2015 roadmap".
